I played the original MGS on my PS 1 I recall, and quite liked it.

Seriously though, play the Witcher series, 1, 2 and 3, its like Mass Effect, where your choices are imported from one game to the next and can change each game by a startling amount.
They are by far my favourite game series of all time.

Heard Witcher 1 and 2 were not very good and that 3 takes it into Skyrim open world territory?
 
I got offered a PS3 for free earlier this week. I said no. [HASHTAG]#truestory[/HASHTAG]

1 is ****ing awesome, and was my favourite game of all time until Witcher 3 came out.
1 is an RPG in the truest sense, like Kotor or mass Effect 1, with a gothic twist.
2 had some great moments, and some excellent writing, plus an improved combat interface and awesome graphics, but the tone was a little off, didnt quite match the quality of 1, but still an essential installment in the series.
3 is openworld like Syrim, had awesome graphics, excellent writing, a great UI, and an insane amount of replay value.
I would definitely do the whole trilogy. But 3 is the best.
