Very seldom nowadays that I get a jazz gig - mostly its the usual pub fare rock pop blues etc - the best drummers I've seen are Jazzers they usually can play rock (and most styles) with no problems - the other way around ask a rocker to play jazz <doh>

Don`t know enough about the subject to comment really (not my instrument) but enough to know some of them are a bit special.

Apart from Buddy Rich obviously Bellson and that big band era

Grohl - Jeff Beck
The bloke on the Trippin` Billies track.
Trying to think of the chap, italian sounding name, works with loads of top muso`s, might have been with Mothers Of Invention?

I was fortunate to have met both of them years ago Bellson was a real gent he took time out after his big band concert and gave me loads of advice in Ronnie Scotts Club- Terry Bozzio is who you cannot recall - I reckon

I'm off to a quiz tomorrow night at The Chesters..I've never done that pub quiz before, but as long as they keep the mobile phone cheating under control then I fancy our teams chances..

Twat! Making me homesick! That was my local in the 70s/80s.

I've been in it since and it ain't how it was then or how it's supposed to be one!

It's a spit and sawdust blokes pub! It might not be now. But that's what it's supposed to be!
