Right I'm quite new on here but these spineless little uneducated cowards do NOT represent OUR football club.
I would quite happily go toe to toe in a boxing ring with this lot with a Mundle top on, I just don't get it he's not the best at the moment but at least he tries.
We have hit a sticky spot and the boos have started come on man, HTL
To be fair mate I was thinking the boos yesterday were aimed the incompetent officials leaving the pitch.

And racism is not something I’ll ever get my head round.

Lyrics from a song by a band called Nada Surf - Always Love

"
Always love
Hate will get you every time"

always got taught,
If you cant think of anything nice to say, then dont say anything at all.

Sadly, until there is a harsher, stronger punishment for this then people will continue to spread the bile, and them claim "Im NoT rAcIsT, I hAvE bLaCk FrIeNdS!"

I haven't seen the abusive messages and don't need to. Racism is alive and well, and is becoming normalised.

Racists live and work among us. They are vile and collectively we need to call it out and make it known they have no place in our club or city.

Fofana at Chelsea posted a load yesterday after his red card. Basically every message calling him a monkey. Which does make me think it’s from foreign accounts that will be never be punished. A few of them have Asian names but could just be using fake names to disguise themselves obviously.

Seems to be a common insult in parts of the Middle East and Spain/Portugal toward black players rather than in England. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve definitely heard racist abuse but that specifically is not something I’ve really heard or seen from English fans.

Isn't this just great!

The city is being dragged out of the gutter, we have construction, a new bridge, Sheepfolds, etc.

The owner has completely transformed the football club, taken us back to the Premier League and made us proud.

But, because of these racists, who riot in our streets, claim the flag as their own and abuse decent people ...

... the conversations about Sunderland today are all to do with what a disgrace the place is.

You wouldn't blame our Swiss owner, French manager, Swiss captain and all the foreign players if they sold up and left.

While we're left with the cowardly lowlife bigots who contribute nothing.

Absolutely sickening.

It's difficult to counteract forms of low level racism but I'd love to work out ways.

There's a house a few streets from us that l always snarl at when out walking the dog. The guy had a sign in his open garage saying something like British jobs for British workers. Also, he has a flagpole (why do people have ****ing flagpoles?) with a union jack and now a Britain First flag.

Also parks a massive old motor home on a blind corner that the police have been out regarding. A few comments on the local Facebook page say that he is a lovely guy apparently...

Plenty of other union jacks about which would be fine if there wasn't a 95% chance of there being a dose of racism behind it.

I totally agree with you.

I also believe it's when people complain that these idiots are sent to jail 'just for posting words on the internet'.

It's a good thing that the government are trying to stop this kind of terrible abuse.

Some politicians are openly encouraging these racists, they should be locked up as well.

Haven’t caught up on this thread yet.

But this ****e pisses me off no end at the minute! You have racist ****ing arseholes stating that people are getting locked up for saying stuff online. Then you have the American propaganda machine joining in "look at the UK people are getting arrested for posting MEMEs, they are under complete government control" etc..

Meanwhile they have a ****ing racist hit squads on the streets with their faces covered shooting people dead on the street for protesting while carrying a firearm which is legal there!

The reality is this country stops you saying whatever you want online when it crosses the legal boundaries into hate speech! Normal decent people won't be upset by that!

I just thought better of us as fans but you are probably right sadly.

It’s just that Mundle isn’t the only one to report it over the weekend and it looked like an orchestrated move by some arseholes to cause trouble. I hope they work out who’s responsible, ban them from attending matches and hit them hard through the law courts with appropriate punishment.

Sad thing is Mundle is just a young lad, slightly older than my daughter, who shouldn’t be exposed to ****e like this because of a sub-par performance. I wonder what level of footballing accomplishments these idiots have themselves, that makes them feel the outright abuse of a professional player is fine.

Having an opinion is absolutely fine, they are like arseholes after all, personal abuse and racism is absolutely not ok. Those spewing the bile wouldn’t do it in person cos they would likely get a hard slap by anyone in earshot if not by the player himself.
Almost to prove my point. Getting the bus in to work this morning two blokes started talking before getting off about the match. One said about Mundle getting racially abused and the other one came out with "he deserved it he was ****e". Honestly I despair about society today.

You know what I don't get about racist comments about players because they didn’t do well, missed a penalty, got sent off etc... is why the **** the race if the player matters?

Does it make any difference to any of that?

Its a bad look but we aren’t the only club where this happens. And I'm sure Mundle will feel the love at the next few matches as the racists are the minority and most people will find this **** abhorrent!

My youngest says a good deal of it comes
from the Indian subcontinent when they lose bets. But there’ll be local
Knuckledraggers too, sadly.
I was in the queue for an atm once, 2 black women in front of me were having a discussion about an Indian woman "she called me a ****ing monkey, not even white people have called me that!"

He was poor has been for weeks, I don't think he is going to make it at this level but a goal could make all the difference to his confidence but so could this ****! But even though he was poor or ****e depending how harshly you want to say it his race has **** all to do with it and shouldn’t be brought into it!

One thing I hope is that the lad see's its not everyone and it is a minority.

If people want to be racist that’s their choice.

Just be open about it and don’t hide behind us if the polis come for you …

… you’re cowards who only appear in numbers or appear anonymously.

People like Mandela stood up to be counted, you lot could take a lesson from him.
During AFCON a voice behind me at the match said he couldn't wait until we got our "coconut headers" back. I turned around and asked who'd said that and of course was met with silence. ****ing cowards.

A lot of this stuff is coming from abroad mind and that isn't to say we don't have our fair share of these types but players will often post the DM's they get with abuse and the names are there to be seen (with country registration data), again not all but most seem to be from abroad and some have tied this to sports betting accounts. Worth thinking about.

I spent some time in the Caribbean when I was younger, and some of the racist abuse given by some lighter skinned black people to some very much darker skinned black people was a real eye opener!

You see this on the PL pages on socials all the time, talking about how they lost their bets and such not about the game.

Like you say there is that knuckle dragging minority within any clubs fan base, but it’s weighty on them pages.

I’ve seen them wishing death on wools on the PL Facebook pages age for drawing a game etc.

Ironically British racism is more subtle and usually comes across more to do with clunky language than with genuine hatred or malice, that's why you get more push back from British people when they're being accused of being a genuine racist, some places abroad do not seem to care at all if they're being called a racist.

I had an older member of my family ask me something about our newly built team that some would consider racist, knowing the person well, I understand that the inquiry was genuine and without sinister motives, so I am able to answer it honestly, that said I'm glad they asked me and not someone they don't know as well.
