Yeah said it earlier in the thread, would love to see them back in the top flight. It’s where they belong, they’ve got a good history and pedigree. As you say though, can’t see it happening atm
Shame they got rid of Highbury. I understand why but it was yet another step away from traditional British football into the soulless big business its become now. Had a guided tour of the stadium, changing rooms and press area in 2004 as part of a 6th form "educational" trip!
Yep sad day when we left Highbury, although I can understand why the club did it. I did two weeks work experience with Steve Braddock, the old head groundsman back in 90/91. Got to cut the grass, paint the white lines, clean out the dugouts (I collected some used chewing gum wrappers from Fergie when we played Utd) and I got to go on the pitch v Liverpool at HT and fork over the divots in the pitch in front of 52k !
Went to Arsenal Spurs NYD after West Ham Chelsea was postponed 86ish. Chelsea fans in Clock End and North Bank. I was in the North Bank watching Chelsea fans fighting Spurs in Clock End. Surreal!
