I'd be happy for Brucey to move him on if he gets a decent offer and feels Sone's face doesn't fit into our unit any longer. The secret of our success has been each player putting the team first and working together - even Man Utd at their best got rid of players who came out and said things like this. I understand a few people will feel I'm overreacting but this isn't his first misdemeanor and if Bruce feels on the training pitch he's fine, that's okay... but if he doesn't look great/fit in during training sessions I certainly won't complain if Bruce takes a couple of million for him in the summer.

I'm fairly sure all of the players still get on well, Aluko seems good mates with Davies and Meyler in particular.

I didn't think the interview was really that bad, the bit about looking at other clubs was slightly too far but at the end of the day would you rather he was hungry to play or happy to sit on the bench?
 
I like that he has the desire to play and wants to be in the team.

I don't like the fact he's moaning after a couple of months, when his performances haven't warranted a place on the bench never mind the starting 11.
 
He needs to keep his head down and gob shut.

SB won't be pleased of course but he won't admit to it when asked in his pre-match media stuff.

If he puts as much time into training and getting fitter as he did wrangling a new contract he should be fine by August.Sulkers can affect the dressing room something SB doesn't need. I hope this isn't the start of someone on an ego trip. No one is bigger than the club.
 
He's come on Twitter to say that the journo has put words in his mouth. Doesn't surprise me if I'm honest all he said was that he's disappointed not to be starting and if I was a footballer so would I but he did say that he will try his hardest to prove he deserves to start.

I would read both sides of the story before people call Sone un-loyal
 
This isn't "bigger than the club" behaviour, this is "I want to ****ing play you big fat Geordie ****" behaviour.

Bigger than the club is when he wants £10m a week on a new contract and a guarantee of champions league football the next season or else he has a clause meaning he can leave for free.

Luis Suarez is the typical example of bigger than the club. Funny though because he knows he is at that.
 
Most of these interviews are full of loaded questions from journos, they're a pain in the arse when they do it, but it's what they get paid for.

All very reasonable responses. Does not sound like a moan to me. Looks like he has been asked ? directly which caught him between a rock and a hard place.

He has to be responsible for the quotes, regardless of what the reporter asks or what he writes around the quotes. And if you look at the quotes in isolation, then at the very least he's been naive.

I wonder if we could adopt the diamond formation like liverpool play so well. Obviously we wouldnt be anywhere near as fast & clinical as they are but we've got the right kind of players for it.

Wasn't it an interview with Phil Buckingham? It was the lead story in the HDM. He's hardly Paxman.

I'm sorry, I just don't accept his explanations - he's not denying he said those things. He could have dodged those questions - he didn't he answered them.

I think after the club has just seen him through two major injuries while at the same time extending his contract despite the fact he has not been able to put a decent shift in recently, this is pretty poor pay-back.
 
the rangers fans were all over it on twitter - i don't think what Aluko said was in anyway extraordinary , stuff you hear from players wanting their place back .
 
At least we know one name that won't be in the starting eleven on Sunday. SB will of course play things down but won't pick a player he thinks is giving out a sob story. Give way to one and he's asking for trouble.

Clearly this is a case for someone to attend a media awareness refresher course.

And this quote ? " Is this for me ? Do i need to find myself a new club ?'.

Mind you,does Steve Bruce have any room to talk ? "All i ask is that people look at my record', "There's only so much you can achieve,at clubs like Hull,Wigan or Birmingham'.

There's a fine line between daring to dream, and being realistic. You need to balance both.

The truly sad part of all of this is, as a club, we as fans are enjoying the most successful season in our history, and some people just seem to want to **** it all up,bring it down....
