Sone Aluko having a moan http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...-Steve-Bruce/story-20964066-detail/story.html Doesn't he realise that he has not cut the mustard since his injury. He is not quite the player he was yet..
I wouldn't say he's having a moan. More just a realistic view of his situation but comes across as wanting to play every game, that's not a bad thing is it? If he does get left out of games the majority of the time, you'd expect him to think about moving to a club where he can be a starter, but equally, if he proves himself, he'll get one with us, and he recognises that. I'm sure he knows he's not been 100% and he was off for a long time with his injury, and yes, he has to fight for a place. Id say he's said what I'd expect, and hope he'd say.
I wouldn't want him to leave, if he has a great pre season then who knows what he could achieve. He played really well on Sunday and I think with no pressure on him to perform now that we are essentially safe, he will improve a lot more.
Nothing wrong with wanting to play every game - but he needs to realise that the form he's shown since returning from injury does not warrant even a little public moan like this. He should keep his head down and gob shut and realise that Bruce has been a very accommodating manager towards him. Let's hope a full pre-season can see him getting his mojo back and beginning to fulfil that potential he has.
He looked sharper on Sunday than on his previous appearances (since his injury). I think he'll start to figure in SB's starting line-ups if he carries on getting back to form. I agree with Tommy - once the pressure is off, he'll get his chances.
Think he makes himself sound a bit of a knob to be honest, with Long and Jela did he expect to come back from injury and be starting games? He's only been fit a couple of months, and when given the chance it's been clear he hasn't looked sharp enough. He did look better on Sunday though.
Theres no doubting the guys ability, and agree with comments above that he's not got back to anywhere near what he was achieving at the beginning of the season but that will come. The challenge for Brucey is accommodating him behind Long and Jelavic gong forward.
It's disappointing that he has come out like this and complained publically, when clearly SB has been trying to ease him back into the side, and at the same time get his form back. Like Fryatt when he was coming back from his similar injury he was clearly not back to his best at the end of last season, when he was brought on to play in those last few games. He just needs to get his head down, and keep quiet, as I am sure he will get on before the end of the season.
When I saw the comments on Twitter this morning, I thought the interview was going to be worse than it is. He's a bit daft talking about moving clubs though, he's been poor since he came back(at least until Sunday) and he needs to earn his place like everyone else.
Talking about moving clubs after your club stuck by you threw two long term injuries and giving you a extended contract in between is pretty disrespectful if you ask me, a couple of months after returning? It's not like he hasn't had any game time at all. After he's come on as a sub at half time and put in his best performance since returning it's a very strange time to do this.
Spot on! Clear difference in attitude/professionalism there. Really good (not great) player who is by no means in a team below him. Has not treated us particularly well when holding the club to ransom before getting injured. Took the money during rehab and suddenly talks about possibly needing to leave. We have a team that is full of honest, hardworking players with a great team morale. Does he fit into this? Does he get on with the other players (i don't know)? I'd be happy for Brucey to move him on if he gets a decent offer and feels Sone's face doesn't fit into our unit any longer. The secret of our success has been each player putting the team first and working together - even Man Utd at their best got rid of players who came out and said things like this. I understand a few people will feel I'm overreacting but this isn't his first misdemeanor and if Bruce feels on the training pitch he's fine, that's okay... but if he doesn't look great/fit in during training sessions I certainly won't complain if Bruce takes a couple of million for him in the summer.
Sounds like a moan to me. We don't need anyone who thinks that they are bigger than the club, Needs to earn his place like everyone else.
Does he not realise that if we get into Europe he'll be playing all the bloody time?! It'll be a packed schedule
I see nothing wrong with what he's saying - if he'd said he's happy to sit on the sidelines and collect his money then I'd be worried.
