Yeah they are all CFs Auba and Laca both do a decent job out wide though. But it’s why Pepe gets game time and Saka has had a chance to break into the team as we need actual wide players. Auba and Laca works together but we couldn’t play three CFs - it might be slight overkill!
Crazy game that. 5-5. Shame to lose it on pens, but I saw enough fight from the players tonight to give me encouragement going forward. Ozil played well too. And the goals from Martinelli and especially Willock were sublime. Defending was an issue again, but you have to say that was a brilliant game to watch.
Load of bulls! Kamikaze defending, lack of game management, school boy defending, the list is endless... Encouragement my foot!
This is Emery we are talking about - Ozil won’t even make the squad on Saturday. Happened after he was quality against Watford. Got immediately dropped.
In terms of future sides I would like to see... ----------------------Leno---------------------- Bellerin---Holding----Sokratis---Tierney -----------Torreira---Guendouzi------------ ------------------------Ozil---------------- ---Pepe----------Aubama-------Lacazette
considering the difference in experience , particularly the subs , of first team football you have to worry that you allowed a 2 goal lead slip . Was fun if mental to watch though
Defensively both sides were left wanting. You can't concede 5 goals each and claim anything otherwise. In Arsenal's defence though (And I'm aware it's a paper thin excuse lol) Liverpool's first goal was a lucky OG, the second was a dive for a pen and the third was an unstoppable worldie from Ox Thought Martinez was a bit unlucky not to stop your final pen too, he was inches away from palming that around the post.
Agree with this. With Subs, this team could also look like this ...........................Leno........................... Bellerin......Holding....Luiz...........Tierney ...........Willock..........Guendouzi............ ......................Ceballos......................... Saka.............Lacazette.........Aubameyang Also wouldn't mind seeing a front two : ..........................Leno.............................. Holding.............Sokratis..................Luiz .................Torreira........Guendouzi.......... Bellerin......................................Kolasinac ...........................Pepe............................. ..............Lacazette......Aubameyang........
you might also want to look at the first team experience of the teams . Not sure it was a dive but it did look just a tad exaggerated
Not really - there's just quite a debate about what are starting 11 actually is/should be. Players like Willock are making a good case. Holding/Bellerin are first teasers but wether they are match fit yet is another question.
The main positive here is that.. Willock, Martinez, Holding, Tierney, Saka, Nelson, Pepe, Torreira and Guendouzi are all soo young with big room for development. Plus William Saliba out on loan looks absolute quality. We just need a coach with a long term plan to get the best out of them. I think the club is in pretty good hands with Sahlelli though - He's making good signings and i don't think he will be afraid to cut loose Emery should he feel the guy is not gonna 'cut the mustard'.
I was referring to the first of the 2 teams Piskie posted as his favoured first 11 rather than your actual first team.
Kolasi is not good enough at either position. Tierney is a better defender and wing back and should always play.
