That was the way my Dad was too (although I could always make an extremely educated guess who he voted for), but go down to my Grandma’s and my step-Grandad was a Labour councillor (John Atkinson), very close with John Black for a long time and my uncle was East Yorkshire buses union leader for quite a while, had placards all over the place, loved by some, hated by many. I can honestly say I never voted until my 30’s, my ex forced me to start voting regardless, but for me, there wasn’t anyone worth voting for and that is so prevalent today. It’s a ****ing disaster.
Social media obviously plays a big role in the transparency Ric mentions, because even if you try not to post anything political, there’s often a hint of one direction or the other.
All in all, jokes aside, I think it’s much better to keep the politics out of any of the threads because it does cause division, and it does taint peoples opinions on you, whether you say it does or not, it does, and we have enough ****e on here (myself included) to work our way through at times.
