Many years ago I worked for a Vauxhall dealership in Nottingham. If people came back and said 'That car I bought' you knew they were pleased with their choice. If they came back and said 'That car you sold me' you knew there was a complaint coming. If Spurs offer £38m for Rigg, and a vastly increased salary, there's virtually nothing we can do to to stop him going ... ... it doesn't mean KLD is flogging off the kids and stuffing the money under his mattress. Sunderland can't risk becoming known as a club that prevents young players from progressing ... ... otherwise they'll stop coming here.
If he goes, he goes. The same can be said for Jobe or Dan Neil or any of our other prodigious talent. But……we are a club at a certain point in our rebuild. Eventually, if KLD’s vision is to be realised, we will become a club where players, be they kids or otherwise will want to come to and want to stay. We will become a club of choice. I want players to say “I want to play at a high level and Sunderland AFC is be the club that I want to do it with”. It won’t happen overnight. It may take us another 15 years before that happens but I’m convinced it will.
Good post mate, but I think we're seeing the beginnings of it already. Players like Seelt,Hjelde,Aleksic,Abdoullahi must have signed for us with that viewpoint in mind. I don't think it will take 15 years.
Bob are you suggesting we are selling loads this summer? If so, nail your colours to the mast and post who's going. Random open to interpretation rumours are not helping in my humble opinion Edit if you are indeed taking the piss then probably best not to leave it 24 hours to mention that as it will have been picked up by some and ran with
Good to see the club engaging with business and employees around the region ... https://www.linkedin.com/posts/dave...d&rcm=ACoAADDa4RgBjb4naGCZ10NesrtsWr35yeqB954 please log in to view this image David Bruce Chief Business Officer at Sunderland AFC "On Tuesday I had the privilege of touring the Nissan manufacturing plant in Sunderland. One of the world’s most advanced and productive. It was a pleasure to be reminded of what makes Sunderland and our people so special. This plant has an edge on most and it is because in Sunderland we find a way to stay ahead. Congrats on the brilliant work and thanks to Lee Watson who leads the facility and Gary Collin who heads up Nissan Sports and Social." please log in to view this image

A lot of moaning about it they got it wrong last year avoiding getting it wrong this year and people still aren’t happy
Sunderland begin discussions with fans about major Stadium of Light change amid atmosphere concerns https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...underland-stadium-of-light-supporters-5076228 Sunderland are opening discussions with supporters about moving away fans back into the lower bowl at the Stadium of Light. The current arrangements, which see travelling supporters housed in the North Stand Upper, will remain in place for the 2025/26 campaign at least as the season card renewal process has already begun. But the club are exploring their options for future seasons amid concerns that the atmosphere at the Stadium of Light has declined. Chief Business Officer David Bruce opened the discussion with fans at the a recent meeting with the Supporter Collective, with representatives present from the Branch Liaison Council, the Red and White Army and the Senior Supporters' Association. Club officials believe the Stadium of Light is no longer providing the club 'the edge' on the pitch that it once did..... No decision has been taken on where away fans may move to in the lower bowl, with the club making clear that this would only be done after extensive consultation with fans. Some present raised concerns over the issue of displacing those already in the lower bowl, many of whom will have now held their season card in the same seat for many years. A broader phase of consultation is now set to begin. What the Sunderland supporter collective meeting minutes said about the issue in full The minutes read: "A new PA system, lighting and standing have been installed at the Stadium of Light to improve the supporter experience. To continue to improve the experience, DB [David Bruce] would like to open discussions on the position of the away fans and the creation of an ‘atmosphere group’. The position of the away fans has been discussed at length at previous meetings, and MB [Senior Supporters' Association] reiterated that the main issue is the displacement of long-standing season ticket holders. At the Coventry City and Leeds United away games, the atmosphere generated was excellent by the home fans. Sunderland away support is always amazing. CR agreed with MB, that moving away fans had been discussed many times. CR [Branch Liaison Council] asked which areas had been considered for relocation and if 330 away fans with Preston North End or 490 Cardiff City fans would make a significant difference to the atmosphere if they moved to the lower bowl. "DB confirmed the Club had not taken a decision as to where away supporters would be re-located to, this would be done in consultation with supporters. PK [Chief Operating Officer] noted that in the Premier League the away ticket allocation would be 3,000. JG [Branch Liaison Council] believes an improved atmosphere starts on the pitch, when the team are committed. DR agreed atmosphere can be reactive to actions on the pitch, but the atmosphere has not reflected the performance over the season. It was noted that this season the atmosphere was the worst in recent memory and with the team having a strong league position, the atmosphere is not creating the edge which Sunderland have been known for in the past (DB). "Limiting migration around the ground as required by the SGSA has prevented likeminded supporters congregating, the age limit in the south stand may also be a factor. It is important to identify and work with fans who want to set up an atmosphere group, suggesting the Club reach out to younger fans who may wish to be involved in an atmosphere group. Fan groups can support the process. "DR continued that effective fan consultation is the only way forward for any discussion that relates to moving away fans: focus groups, surveys, full consultation. Ultimately, it will be a decision made by the Club, but it can only be a good decision if the fan base has been fully consulted (PK). The Club is keen to work with the collective and the wider fanbase to determine the correct outcome."
Hopefully this will stop the moaning, that the club never listens, for a while. KLD inherited this situation and the police have always resisted attempts to change things. It would be good if the away section was in the SW corner imo, so the cameras don't pick up on the usual swathes of empty seats. It also means the busiest exit routes for Sunderland are easier than the current situation.
Problem is with the SW corner is that you have the corporates boxes over that end, not sure how much that would be an impact like
I’d have them down. Obviously our atmosphere is poor but a lot of clubs atmospheres are generated by bouncing back and forth with away fans south stand can’t even hear the away fans most of the time
