You seem to think this Man U, Bordeaux and Lorient reject is a beter signing than the Man U stalwarts who are Oshea and Brown by the above quote. But now you say thats not what you mean and have lumped them all in together as ****e.
Like I said, you're not very good at this.

I would have liked O'Shea and Brown maybe 4-5 seasons ago. Not now. They're too old, too well paid and SAF wouldn't have sold them if he thought they were worth keeping.

Bad signings for me

You don't play 300 games for Man United and get booted out unless you're past it

That's bollocks.

O'Shea played 30-odd games last year and is an excellent signing for a mid table club.

A player is not automatically past it just cos United sell, Fergie said himself in an ideal world he'd have kept O'Shea, but let him go as he felt he was still worthy of being a first choice in the Premier League.

Were Beckham & Van Nistelrooy past it? I seem to remember them doing pretty well after United. WHat about Forlan, i seem to recall him being one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, Rossi? £35million rated now.

I know they are younger, but my point is United DO let good players leave SAF is desperately trying to close the gap on Barca, there had to be changes.

I reserve judgement on Brown, as i fear your right on him, but Obertan is a ****ing awful player, how can a professional footballer just run the ball out of play so often?

He's ****.

Gerard Pique and Jaap Stam were well passed it when Fergie sold.

Mong.

Pique was 20/21 and Moved to Barcelona. Bit of a ****ing contract from being 30 odd and moving to Sunderland

Stam - granted, he was sold too early. But he was also a much better player than either O'Shea or Brown

Point is, not every one United sells is passed it. :et's wait and see how they do this season befroe judging shall we.

Beckham and V. Nistelrooy wanted out.

Forlan and Rossi granted - but they were young when they moved, just like Obertan is and O'Shea and Brown are NOT.

And I agree with you that Obertan is ****e.

I acknowledged the age thing marra, but it's true that leaving United doesn't make you ****e.

No longer being United standard doesn't stop you from being a very good Premier League player!

True, however it annoys me how some people on this board get the red and white specs on and big O'Shea and Brown up as being world beating, unbelievable signings when every United fan I know would groan when they seen either on the team sheet for the last couple seasons.

Couple that with the fact they will both be on massive wages, and have no re-sale value, and I just can't see the attraction that much for what are just "decent players".

There is better players and better value out there if you look for it. These deals remind me of the rejects you bought off Spurs a few seasons back. Tainio, Chimbonda and Malbranque. You all thought it was great business, everyone else thought it was ****e....

Odd because United fans in geneal were gutted that O'Shea left.

Malbranque was a great player for us, i'll agree on the rest, although we got our money back on Pascal.

I think the big thing about O'Shea is the mentality and presence he will bring, we have a very young squad, and that cost us when the going got tough, O'Shea will be a great lad for rallying players and helping their confidence, and he is a capable defender, i think he's a solid signing.

As i've said, i have my doubts on Brown, but we'll have to see how he goes.
