Someone claiming to be a journalist on football rumours, is saying that Obafemi Martins is currently discussing terms with us.

Normally I would just ignore it, but it happens that someone called me over the weekend to say they thought they'd just seen him in Hull city centre and did I know anything about it.

Seems far too good to be true, so it's probably rubbish, but it's a quiet day so I thought I'd bung it up anyway.

The only thing to bear in mind is that he is getting on a bit, if you have read his age on Wikipedia or other sources it's not exactly... Confirmed.
 
I know he played for Brum this year but wasnt there issues when he played for Inter ages ago that he had given a false age and passport didnt match all his other docs?

how old is he really then?

He's Nigerian, so nobody really knows.
 
He's somewhere between 26 and 36 and he's probably on somewhere between £30-40k a week.

Brum had a deal lined up to keep him for £5m but following relegation they didn't exercise it. He's moved back to England on compassionate grounds, as he's just had a kid and his family didn't want to move to Russia, maybe there's a chance of a part funded loan for a year?
 
He is on 60k a week and Birmingham paid 30k of those last year, so maybe we could do the same :) He is my favorite player and I would buzz if we got him!
 
Awesome rumour but I can't see it happening at all. Would at least shut up the idiots on the HDM site who keep saying "blow your socks off".
 
No chance.

Way too good a player for us. I've always rated him and if he is 36 you wouldn't know it. He still has pace and a great shot on him.
 
Well just been informed that Martins is a West Brom target, even though there **** he will chose them over us any day :(
