Oh, Is that right. Perhaps you would like to tell me why it was then that the allams wanted the best seats in the house at Wembley when NFU won the Trophy? Perhaps you can explain what happened after they didn't get their wish granted. Well, I will tell you. The Chairman of the club at the time had been there for over 20 years and steered them to heights no one would ever have envisaged. He was Mr Ferriby and had begged, borrowed and stole to get the club to where they were. Yet the allams wanted the best seats in the house and take the limelight away from all the staff and helpers that had managed to get this club to the heights it did. Well on the Tuesday night after the final, the Chairman resigned stating that his position had become unteenable. The next day the son in law and his wife put the club up for sale and cut the budget. The Chairman had been cast aside like an unwanted piece of shyte. It was allam that cut the funding via the son in law and his daughter, have no doubt about it. But the club amazingly went on to get promotion to the National league. The manager, his staff and some players bailed out to go to Halifax. They did that because they knew what would happen. It was totally unsustainable to keep it there and they were relegated. Now, it seems the budget is down to the bear bones and the situation is that the club will probably finish up going to the Northern Premier league. So please don't tell me it was nothing to do with the allams.
As always with the Allams, it's nothing to do with them when it goes wrong, but everything to do with them when there's success on the pitch.
For NFU to get back to where they were I suggest they move out of NF. Sad, but it seems like the only solution. Somewhere like Beverley would be okay, though I am saying this from no great knowledge of the club or Beverley for that matter. I do know that Beverley is growing rapidly and could support a team in the NL (North)
From what I hear Steve is OK, but his better half is very much in the family mould. Some friends of mine, who have been supporters for a long time and used to look after the Directors lounge on match days have just packed it in, and wouldn't go near the club now. Things are not right there.
Perhaps they should shorten the team name to Beverley Ferriby United AFC. It would make them more marketable.
Being a Bev lad myself I don't think this would get anywhere. It's either City or one of the 'Big Four' in Bev. Which is an improvement from when I was growing up here when it was one of the Big Four and possibly City as well as a side team.
Me and my mates went to Ferriby quite a lot while we at Uni, home and away games. A few times we riled oppo players up enough they'd get sent off, one time one player literally jumped into the stands to confront us and it caused a mini riot. I remember the chairman at the time being really pleased with it and buying us all a pint after the match etc.
Beverley's got a minster..No reason why they can't be known as Minstermen...Bollocks to York...porky little town..
They are the Minstermen, as City's nick name is THE Tigers already, bit confusing don't you think? Just saying like...
Hi John...i'll concede..Your right...York have been the Minsterman since the beginning of time... Bevby United Ferrets... it is then.
