I don't know why anyone is surprised. Say for instance Giaccherini's contract ran out, Sunderland and Newcastle put offers on the table, where would he go if they offered the same money? Newcastle. The fact Jack is a life long fan, Sunderland were never even in the running. The same would happen with their other toon fan Johnson. Now they are officially confirmed as a feeder club, I'd tap up Wickham who is out of contract next season.

The bitterness won't really be complete until a mackem claims (off the back of the Mirror <laugh>) he never really wanted to join and we tried to sell him for 5m.

Seems he didn't really want to go to you after all <laugh>

Newcastle were locked in an extraordinary row with Jack Colback’s representatives before his £50,000-a-week move to St James’ Park.

Mirror Sport understands confirmation of the 24-year-old’s free-agent defection from arch-rivals Sunderland was held up for over two weeks - because he staged a u-turn and asked to be allowed to go to West Ham instead.

The Magpies and Hammers had been in a straight fight for Colback’s services when it became clear that he was ready to quit the Stadium of Light.

It appeared the battle had been won when Colback initially chose a move to his native Tyneside.

It is understood, however, that the Toon were left stunned after being told the player had had an overnight change of heart - possibly sparked by concerns over the reaction on Wearside - and now wanted to move to the Upton Park club.

A remarkable week of wrangling then ensued in which Colback’s representatives allegedly tried to backtrack - only to be told by Newcastle that they had already reached agreement and the club were not willing to go back on it.

At one stage, they did offer to actually SELL Colback to West Ham for £5million.

It was when the Hammers declined the audacious move that the player’s move to Newcastle was confirmed.

Mocking Sunderland may make some people feel better, but the fact we have signed this prick who is a "die hard" NUFC fan yet contantly took the piss out of us when Sunderland beat us really rankles with me...

Hahahahaha.

Apparently the source of the Mirror story was RTG.... Lolololololollolololol.

My night just gets better.

I like this, we can't develop our own talent, so we'll just use Sunderland as our reserves <laugh>

To be fair, the fact he's a Newcastle fan is irrelevant. Even Sunderland fans would prefer to play for us, as the only way anybody is playing in-front of a capacity crowd at the Stadium of ****e, is if they join the Kings of Leon.

Can't wait until the world cup starts so we can stop talking about this nothing of a story. He's a decent water-carrier, no more or less. Take away the 'rivals' aspect and its a non-story which no-one cares about.

They'd be good on guitar.

Even I did not believe that the biggest thing to happen to Newcastle in the close season (Ten pages and counting) would be the signing of a very ordinary Sunderland player, surely to goodness some supporters aspire to greater things for NUFC

Whilst you are quite correct about his abilities....................away with you. Its far too much fun watching the overflow of bitterness about a squad player.

A copy and past of an article

Nothing like a bit of editing ey.

Comment on a dodgy edit.

Wow, get a grip mate you're making a fool of yourself, you clearly wouldn't know bitterness if it slapped you in the face either that or you're clutching again. You sheltered soul <laugh>

If keeps you happy though. <ok><laugh>

But wait, lets analyse your posts on this page.

Timing doesn't lie  Worth a try fella

<laugh> Wow, you're really flogging a dead horse here aren't you? You just can't leave them alone especially as your fellow fans seem to be getting bored like everyone else.

Time to move on Colback is Newcastle player now.

This. I'm sick of hearing about him now.

Yeah it's horrible and he is ginger and a clogger but we all have to get over it now.

I'll give the lad a chance.
Players like Perch and Jose won me over after I had initial reservations.
Onwards and upwards...

Spot on. This is doing my box in now.

Crack on mate. You're making yourself look a right twat. <party>

Let me guess Beel? Bite? Fishing(you've gone through some amount of bait)? Six fingers? **** your sister? Bitter lemon? You're not just thick but you're predictable.

Seems I was wrong you have reached your zenith, hope that is not the case for the Sunderland board
