I just said to my dad that I wouldn't be surprised if none of the new boys started, that's Howe's style. Tonali has the best chance as he's been here a while and is the most obvious upgrade.

Hmmm I'd say Barnes because he knows the league ... I'll genuinely be amazed of Tonali starts.. only howe knows we'll have to wait and see .

I'm not because Murphy hasn't played almost every game.

Two points:

a) I actually agree on Murphy. When people talked about Miggy and Joelinton improving they don't seem to mention Longstaff and Murphy in the same manner. Whilst I'll concede they haven't hit quite the same heights they were both on the verge of being entirely discarded before Howe came in and I'd hope and expect both to still be important players for us this season. I really like Murphy, the fact he was a fan, his redemption at the club and how obvious it is that he lives and breathes excellent dressing room atmosphere - you need players like him in the squad who accept bit part roles at times and seem to be delighted just to get off the bench to represent the club.

b) Not sure what qualifies as playing in "almost every game" but he played in 36 of our 38 Premiership games last year. Just FYI.

Starting is really what I'm saying sorry I know he was involved in most but mainly sub appearances.
