Have a read on villa forum
I must have been watching a different match to the posters on there
We were “ lucky” they were “ cheated” etc etc
I said to my mates at the start of the game, you always have a chance when your playing against Mings, but according to them he’s a world beater and him getting injured changed the game :biggrin::biggrin:
We beat them fair and square because we were better all over the pitch, we’re organised and 100% fitter!
If you look at the replay he wasn’t even looking at the ball but was more intent on barging Isak and then he fell over!!
Actually do think the score line flatters us even though we had more chances (and we did).

But they missed some aswell. At 1-1 it could have gone either way.

And I do believe the Mings injury was on their players minds.

Our fitness levels after 70 minutes killed then though.

Based on genuine goalscoring chances, it could easily have been about 8-4.

Nice to see us bagging a few as that was a real concern for parts of last season.

Good job the match lasts a minimum of 90 mins then….
Seriously they were way off the pace , almost as if Bruce had prepared them!
As for Mings, he wouldn’t have stopped our attack in the 2nd half even if he stayed on

I agree. I just think it deflated them a little.

But our fitness levels in the 2nd half were ridiculous. They didn’t have any legs the last 20 minutes.

What a bench we have to bring on now.

Gordon didn’t get much credit as Tonali got it all but he was immense.

Yeah, Gordon showed lots of energy and looked very positive in his play.

Even Wilson looks sharper again. They way he was sprinting to get into the box when Barnes scored, was way better than he looked for most of last season.

The levels are raised. That’s what quality does. Everyone around the new players have to raise their game.

That’s progress.

The club are doing fantastic in this respect.

It’s modest progress aswell but aggressive. Which means the players don’t feel too challenged just they can raise their game.

What the duck did he talk about then?

He later said they were talking about the game, hoping for a good start to season etc, and that i'd told him about some people on the forum, and it was nice to meet. Me and magdad were just laughing about the whole situation of trying to spot me <laugh>
