Is it the best debut since Quinn?

He was immense.

And what he gives us is freedom.

The fitness levels. Elite.

Papiss Cisse had a pretty good debut for us. He only scored 1 goal if I recall correctly but it was a beautiful winner against Villa and he was the heart of a few good moves.

Watching the game back and Bruno did a lot of good things, don't think he was bad at all.

I'd add in that I've seen people saying Miggy was poor and should be dropped. He did a lot of dirty work, harried and won balls and laid off the ball to players who then got assists and the collection from the long ball which meant the keeper took him out was good too. He was, as always, a menace which the opposition always have to account for. He didn't have a great game but if that's what we now see as him being poor then he really has raised expectations of him as a player.

I don't know why people are so focused on fingering who was bad. Everyone was good IMO. Some were just more noticeable than others. We have a solid squad of good players - they're not all going to lash them in from 30 yards and put in 10/10 performances on the same day. Thankfully now, if someone is under performing, we have real quality on the bench (assuming we're all fit).

Why not? They need replacing then.

<whistle>

Wooooooohooo, wtaf! What a start to the season, 5-1 victory over a decent Villa team who are expected to push for European spots again and we didn't get out of second gear really.

As first games go that was unbelievable. Scary to think we can only get better as the players who played get up to speed, those who came on and made a difference start getting some starts under their belts and all of that's without players like Livarmento, Target, Willock, Dubravka who can come in and not take away from the team.

Hard to keep your feet on the ground after that but it's only one game. Imagine if we finish the month with 5-7 points....

Have a read on villa forum
I must have been watching a different match to the posters on there
We were “ lucky” they were “ cheated” etc etc
I said to my mates at the start of the game, you always have a chance when your playing against Mings, but according to them he’s a world beater and him getting injured changed the game :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
We beat them fair and square because we were better all over the pitch, we’re organised and 100% fitter!
If you look at the replay he wasn’t even looking at the ball but was more intent on barging Isak and then he fell over!!
