I think he looks way off the pace and I think Howe will slowly bleed him in over a month or so.

 

They are on the bench.

It will be Longstaff, Hayden & Hendrick starting. With Murphy & Fraser on the wings.

How do we know how many Murphy would get ? He's been scoring a few tbh looked sharp pre season.

Gordon is worse than max for end product - Gordon isn't the finished article Barnes is.

 

It's a such a better debate assessing who should start out of Wilson, Isak, Gordon, Miggy and Barnes as a front 3 and who should start out of Bruno, Joelinton, Tonali, Longstaff, Anderson in midfield, vs where we were just 2 years ago.

To be fair, Murphy has improved tremendously under Howe. He was simply shocking before that. But he still shouldn't be near the match day squad now.
