The defender is also a threat on an attacking-front for Preston, having netted three league goals this season. A product of the Partick Thistle academy, the 28-year-old also has had spells at Barnsley and Stoke City, before his move to Deepdale on an initial loan in February 2021 with the move made permanent in June later that year.

After a playing career that included spells at Shrewsbury Town, Crewe Alexandra and Bury, Lowe began his managerial career with the Shakers.
The 45-year-old then went on to manage Plymouth Argyle, earning promotion from Sky Bet League Two before moving on to Preston in December 2021.
