Am thinking about buying a house in Northampton for me and my young family as it looks good value.

Do any of you live in Northampton and is it good? I can get a train to London in less than an hour I think (in theory) and a nice house for my budget.

Will be well placed for Saints away games too but the town is a bit run down perhaps. I walked about it at weekend but its got character. There is also another Saints there being the rugby club but I dont know much about rugby but apparetly their pretty good so could be a saints rugby fan too.

I live in Northampton Jonny. Let me know if you do move up and I’ll warn the council.

ha ha exellent!!?
We could set up a Northampton Saints supporters!!
is it a good to live in? We are looking on the North side of town near where the old horse race track used to be!
Dont tell the council !

I think you were thrown a "gimme" there!<laugh>

ah you guys. You got me. I thought this could be the begining of something special just for me and FLT

I suppose Northampton is a long way from Southampton although it does share the Hampton part in the name.

At least I could sing when the saints but at the rubbish rugby which I dont even like

Northampton itself isn't great but the villages that are all about it are generally lovely.
If you live to the SW side, you are talking a two hour drive to SMS.
Take a look at Silverstone or Towcester both have easy access to road south

It’s always difficult to pass judgement on areas to live Jonny, as everyone has different thoughts and expectations. As a Town Centre, it is losing its character as the original shoe making industry has gradually disappeared. The shopping centre isn’t great, but as a town it has everything beeddd and the surrounding areas are lovely. If you are a real London boy, it may seem quiet.

Some of the older properties in an around the old racecourse have a lot of character and the university has a campus near there.

Personally the town centre isn’t my cup of tea, however the town does have some very good restaurants.

Do you have kids?

We certainly can have a Saints meet up and a beer to welcome you here.

There´s always Milton Keynes if you like shopping, plastic cows and roundabouts.
