Birmingham signing Dembele and Sanderson.

And they've already signed Ethan Laird , Krystian Bielik and Tyler Roberts. And Japan international Koji Miyoshi. All for less than £2m each

Quietly having a very good window.

If the numbers getting reported are true, Henderson will be on thin end of 2 million pounds a month.... 2 million pounds. F**kin hell.
That’s an unbelievable amount of money. Even for a very rich person like Jordan, it’s a game changer and will put him into another bracket of wealth. Extremely difficult to turn down and I suppose that’s the idea for the Saudis to get past peoples’ moral objections.

Haway man Rooch, stop sitting on the fence about it.
How can any mentally rich bastard go and work for twats who happily butcher people anywhere and just chuck money everywhere to keep the f uckers onside and keep their mouths shut. It’s sick when people have millions already happily go and work for them. Wouldn’t bother me one jot if they all died of a Middle East plague while they are over there, worthless t wats.

What they did to Khashoggi was appalling. With all of this talk of expensive footballers going there, his case went out of my mind for a bit until you mentioned it.

He thought that eating bird **** live on tv would be the most embarrassing thing that he'd ever do <whistle>

EFC Here we go, confirmed
Ashley Young medical will take place later today, and he will sign the contract right after as new Everton player on a free transfer.

Andros Townsend and now Ashley Young . . . . is Duncan Ferguson available ?

That's a disastrous first signing for Everton. Even if you could justify signing him this summer, it's terrible PR for him to be the first one through the door.

Add to that, the Johnny Evans rumours and it almost looks like the club are just filling the squad with a couple of low cost place holders until the owner can sell up.

Villa are doing some excellent business. They need another striker to be truly competitive in my opinion but they will be looking to win the Europa League and be lurking just outside the top 4 waiting for someone to slip up.

I think man for man they are very close to 4th now.

Add a top manager and a proper buzz to the mix they gonna be dangerous.

Ignoring the furore around where he might be moving to, he will be a massive miss for Liverpool both on the pitch and around the squad.

I know he is getting on a bit but it’s not easy to replace a character like that in the squad unless there is already a plan in place.

*Edit - turns out he played 43 club games in all competitions last season which shows he is still very much part of the first team.

Fabinho going as well, they were already light and their midfield is nowhere near City or Arsenal now, even United, Chelsea and them up the road looks stronger CM now.

If they aren’t converting Trent, which I hope they are as an England fan, they need at least 3 in CM to cover the games. Big ask and surely they gonna compromise quality wise.

Mac Allister is a great signing, but he isn’t getting in City or Arsenal first 11, Szobozloi is absolute quality but he’s a 10.

Im not sure what their plans are but it looks messy as **** as it stands.

I reckon the Saudi Pro League is here to stay personally. Not saying I like the human rights record of the country, but we saw in the world cup they are fanatical about football in that country.

They have an ambition in 5 years time to have 100 of the worlds best footballers in that league. They are making a good start on that. They are likely to bid for a world cup and already have the infrastructure for it. They have had a professional league for a while now and they get good crowds and atmospheres, and have the concept of club rivalries. They have a very young population too and sport is really big for them. Maybe the govt motivations are dubious but it is happening, at pace, and to be honest I can see a time, not too far off, where the games will be on Sky Sports. I remember in the build up to the world cup when I seemed to be one of a small group openly looking forward to watching it. In the end a lot watched and enjoyed. I can see the same happening here in time. Ideally everybody would be like Rory Mcillroy and make a clear stance. That said football is the only truly global game so I sense a degree of inevitability about it.

When it gets that far, that's me done with it.

It is a deeply odious country, evil is not too strong a word. Any player going there is aiding and abetting a country that has no compulsion in executing children and exercising, even boasting, about many other abominations.

Economic links might be justified by the Realpolitik involved. But acting as a paid human screen puts every one of the footballers, golfers and whoever else comes next, down in the sewer with their paymasters.
