It's seems they're about to sign Shay Given and Stephen Ireland too.

This new investor at Donny seems to be throwing a lot of coin at the club, but he's proper dodgy, he was involved in some Irish government fraud and was struck off as a company director for six or eight years.

This fit and proper person test has been a great success. It just goes from strength to strength.

Soldado to Spurs is a cracking signing.

Best striker in La Liga (currently) that isn't playing for one of the 'big 2'.

Man, there's a lot of money being thrown around this season and some cracking players being brought in. It's really interesting to watch.

Right up until the point you realise that Roberto Soldado, Jesus Navas, Iago Aspas et al have the sole intention of using Allan McGregor's face for target practice. All these signings are really good, but they're just making the tough games tougher.

Which will make it all the more satisfying when we win. <laugh>

Play Faye and Figueroa, and them lot will 'ave no bloody chance! ;)

That's two big money signings for Cardiff (if Caulker signs) - factor in the Capoue offer on the table and you have £24m exc wages for three players. Expensive business this Premier League lark.

Think they have overpaid on Caulker - in my eyes I would have thought Levy's eyes would have bulged at that offer received

I agree. Caulker is good but nowhere near is he worth £8m. He did sign a new contract with Spurs from 2012-2016 so he was never going to be cheap. Another overpriced sale success for Daniel Levy. imo. :emoticon-0116-evilg

I can immagine what certain posters on here would be saying if we had spent the money that Cardiff have and more to the point on who they have.

Good defender, but £8m seems like a bit much for him.

Indeed it is. TWT as to weather it has been money well spent or just wasted.

At the moment i think Caulker is at the same level to Davies, they are very similar players in fact. However Caulkers going to improve massively over his 5 year contract whereas Davies has probably peeked. Not complaining though

For Cardiffs sake he had better at that price. This could be bad news for the capt. Mark Hudson or Ben Turner.

Doncaster have put on hold this deal as another party have come into the picture SSN are now reporting. Maybe the fit and proper act is finally working. ;) Looks like Shay Given wont be joining afterall by the sounds of it.

Charlton look set to sign Bolton's England U21 international striker Marvin Sordell.
Charlton also look set to sign up Reading striker Simon Church.

Cardiff have sent defender Ben Nugent to Brentford until early January.

Southampton cancel Belgian winger Steve De Ridders contract by mutual consent.

Andre Moritz who was part of the Crystal Palace promotion team last season has joined Bolton.

Andros Townsend has told SSN that it maybe time he left Spurs for regular first team football.

SSN reporting that Cardiff want to sign Peter Odemwingie and Wigan will sign Norwich defender Leon Barnett.

Wolves want £2m for striker Kevin Doyle. Celtic have altready had a bid rejected for Doyle.

Newcastle must pay £8m for DQPR striker Loic Remy. No loan deal the Toon club have been told.

Blackburn are bringing in Doncaster left back Tommy Spurr and have taken Hull City midfielder Tom Cairney on loan until January 2014.

Fancy seeing you lot here in the premiership...last season was tough for both of us...it worked out ok in the end but you and Watford had us worried all the way.

Anyway as you know the rest of the teams will be looking for six easy points from us and I wish you the best of luck not giving them any.

jck
