That's worrying assuming McCann was called in by Rehab earlier this week. They must be talking given the worrying form we've been in (whether we 'choose' to look at 6, 10, 15 whatever!).
It seems to suggest a) he's already trying to re-adjust our expectations and b) he's going to be here next season even if he fails again this season
And once again to demonstrate how poor he is both on and off the pitch, the interviewer gave him every opportunity to say something inspiring and positive, and that's the best he could come up with. He's hopeless.

I jokingly suggested a new contract.

I'm scared I may have been correct.

Here's the video evidence.

The full clip is actually worse.

My problem with McCann, well one of them anyway, is his defeatist attitude. If you want to be successful, you talk positively, challenge underperformance by all means but don’t highlight your own fears EVER. I wouldn’t follow him to the door never mind into battle. For Gods sake man stop being so pathetic!

Direct quote from Grant's presser today:

"I think we need to stay calm.. But it's important we understand we all want the same thing. We all want to try & get out of this division. If we can do it in this first year, great. If we don't we'll do it the next year but our focus is on now"

WHAT THE **** DO YOU MEAN NEXT YEAR?

He's never leaving.

there's a balancing act between cobbling together a decent team and keeping memberships up or keeping costs low, dumbing down the side, going through the motions and losing memberships - personally I think the Allams have tried to cobble together a side that can compete for promotion, it's the McCann part of the deal that isn't working at the moment - if memberships fall enough they will either have to get rid of McCann to keep members happy or get rid of the players at the end of the season and buy in cheaper options and lose even more members - I would like to think McCann will be first to go because a football team with no paying members is never going to be sold
Memberships have fallen in recent times due to Covid, not McCann. Whether that’s right or wrong, I’d be fairly certain that’s the judgement the Allams have made - otherwise McCann would have been replaced.

I disagree about returning to the championship. Ehab obviously does. and I suppose it is a balancing act for all clubs with finances especially during Covid.
we wouldn’t have brought in Whyte and Crowley if we weren’t serious.
Well yes, if returning to the Championship pays the best return for the minimum risk, then that will be a secondary objective. It will never be the Allams prime motive though, that will always be to extract as much as they can from the club. I didn’t make that point very well earlier.

When using a big stick to beat the Club and Current Manager(given the current form, some of it's justified),the vast majority of posters on here would use the "we've got the best team in this League"," we are underperforming given the players we have",would you agree that this is a fair comment?

I'm just finding it difficult to understand why Allam bothered spending a single coin if the prime objective is to stay at this level,in this League and 'milk' the Club for everything he can?

I have just listened to McCann again and you get the impression that he is a man who is so secure that he can say just what he likes. It’s the only reason you can think of that he could say such a thing. It’s so defeatist at this stage but clearly what he thinks. If the mindset of the team is being set by him what can we expect when they go behind. Well we’re losing this one but we will win the next. This setting targets bullshit really riles me too. The target should be to win every game. I know it’s unrealistic but it still should be the target. I don’t like Swannys obvious bullshit but he is right about leaders in the team. Inspiration and motivation are one of the largest factors in football at any level. I just don’t see any evidence of it at City.

when he says he's focused on getting out of this division, we can be forgiven thinking which direction he is trying to get out

Grant was called in this week and from what I am led to believe it wasn't a pleasant meeting and expectations where made abundantly clear along with the ramifications if those expectations where not to be hit
Well, if that press conference was the result of getting a bollocking I just wonder what expectations he's been asked to meet!

It definitely seems like McCann has hit a turning point in the last couple of weeks when it comes to City fans.

Up until this latest poor run of form, you’d still find the odd fan here and there backing him and most disliking him but not calling for him to go too much.

It now feels that most want him gone ASAP. That pressure is going to be very difficult to survive, even with an empty stadium.

Per the meeting with Ehab, I expect Terry 'Asbestos' McCann was given a points target to hit over the next 3 games. To gain promotion / play-offs - he needs to achieve an average of 2pts per game or better. If he doesn't hit the target then I would hope that Ehab would hopefully think I've got a useless pair of ****s in charge here and boot them out. Remember, Ehab did support McCann with a decent recruitment drive over the January window and the pts per game average is nowhere near the required target.
