Nigel Pearson was a good appointment with some top coaching staff. He took them all to Leicester with him, they stayed and won the Premiership and he got the push. Agree about Parky, we should have got his number two as well but didn't Colchester refuse to let him go ?
We don't exist in a vacuum, people in the footballing community know exactly what it's like to come to Hull City at the moment. Our ownership issue is well publicised, so it's mental to suggest it wouldn't play a part in any decision.
The Cowleys aren't going to come here given that Lincoln have plenty of momentum. They're a league below, but that could easily change in a year's time. They're both well liked there by the fans and the management, the players play for them and they play well.
I said earlier in the week it's a token gesture from the Allams to chase somebody like that and say they are willing to pay compensation for somebody, but they aren't going to. They'll claim they went after them, in a weak attempt to appease us, shortly before announcing somebody utterly ****ing useless who is just happy to get a job.

Can’t speak for anyone else, but I can’t read anyone saying that it won’t play a part at all – of course it will.
But the main issue is money and budget at this level.
If the Allams offered the best managerial wages in the division, plus the funds to compete with the best, they and other managers of a similar ilk would come.
I’m boycotting and despise the regime. But I also hate all of this snivelling, ‘ooh I hope he doesn’t come here cos we’re not good enough for him now’ or ‘AFC Dogshite are miles bigger than us now’.
Have some self respect. Hate the Allams but remember who we are.
In my opinion, the boycott is the best political action to take as if taken collectively, would demonstrate to the outside world our solidarity and attitude as fans. We then return en masse post-Allam, demonstrating our true capacity. I accept, not everyone agrees.
Repeatedly slagging off the entire fibre, size and history of the club makes us look small time and feeds into opinions of us that we’ve tried to shrug off over the years.
If you seriously have such contempt for the club and its history, why not petition the Allams to wind the club up, ****ing turn the ground into a carpark and forget it all.

Ha. Unfortunately yes, fair point, but I suppose delusion runs both ways.
But we also actually had that about Huddersfield on here from the same types over the last couple of seasons too.
Everything they did was amazing, far superior to us – until they pretty much did a Derby last season. Whereas, despite our problems, we’ve always hit at least 30 pts in the PL.

But I can’t help myself sometimes objecting to wave after wave of infantile hysteria, from us being too **** to play for/manage, to us deffo being relegated (again) or FC Rising **** Small Club are exactly who we should aim to be.
Plus the neo uber-Allam haters (who mostly were sucking his nob ‘til we were relegated) just repeating the same old ****e over and over a ****ing ‘gain.
I always find it funny how managers who are in lower leagues are always considered never good enough to manage higher despite rarely ever being given the chances to do so.

I totally agree , at this time I'd much rather have a younger manager who has had success in the lower leagues than
one of the same old faces who seem to get job after job despite failing.
Whichever manager you appoint you can never guarantee success and you are gambling to some extent . Phil Parkinson failed here

Off the top of my head just some of the young and first time managers Hull City have given a chance too since 1970.
Terry Neill, first managerial job. Under achieved massively with a highly talented squad, John Kaye, first managerial job, did nothing. Ken Houghton first and only managerial job, Bobby Collins, first managerial job, lasted three months, Mike Smith first managerial job ( of a league club) Bankrupt the club, Terry Dolan, recruited from Div 4 Rochdale, club appeared three times at the High Court on winding up orders, Eddie Gray, also from Rochdale, did nowt, Mark Hateley first managerial job, disaster...….Jan Molby very little managerial experience, did nothing, Phil Parkinson, did nothing, Slutsky did nothing, etc etc etc.
The only time we have hit the jackpot was when we have appointed an experienced manager, Phil Brown being the exception who had only coached before although under Sam Allardyce, Peter Taylor, Brian Little ( moderate success) Brian Horton, Nigel Pearson ( left a good squad and wasn't sacked) Steve Bruce...……
I'm sure others can add their own names to the list.

Phase 5 : Last ditch survival (followed by abject second season) or relegation
