Really showed his support tonight, glad its over

What it does show though is that a conversation has taken place you would imagine as the news wouldnt have come out of no where. I wouldnt be suprised to see him back in the stands again though...

Fortunately most of this circus happened while we were sleeping on this side of the world. Certainly hope Pearson remains for a few seasons yet. He has done amazing things for the club and while none of us are happy with the league position I don't see a better candidate out there to take us forward.
 
Glad he is staying. As Proud has said earlier, if we go down we need to stick with Pearson to bring us back again. I don't want to go through the managerial circus again.
I do wonder though if the club leaked something just to see what the reaction would be from the fans. I've read a lot of support for Pearson when the "sacking" was announced.
The fans were singing Pearson's name again on Saturday, so I do think the majority want him to stay as we can see the bigger picture.

We was always going to struggle this season and I think the majority of people who want Pearson out, are the ones who expected us to be in the top 10 the first season back.

How can you still believe he is a good long term choice as manager?????? He has absolutely single-handedly screwed this season up with his ridiculous team selections and constant tinkering! Unless the club has a replacement lined up he probably ought to stay and see the job through. As I've said before, if we survive this season it will be in spite of him rather than because of him. He is not a Premier League quality manager. Let's hope there is only 1 Nigel Pearson, just like I hope there is only one Sven Goran Eriksson, because I couldn't take another of either of them!

... well as we know he's not gone yet ... but he is on borrowed time ...

... as for being a Leicester legend ... Frank O'Farrell, Jock Wallace, Gordon Milne, Brian Little and Micky Adams ... all managers under whom we've gained promotion to the top flight ... wouldn't quite put them in legendary status ...

Martin O'Neil, Jimmy Bloomfield and Matt Gilles .. O'Neil won two league cups ... Bloomfield's side have been described by neutrals as 'the best side in English football never to win anything' and as for Gilles ... two FA Cup finals (when it was arguably more prestigius than the league title) and two League cup finals ... one winning ... in the space of 5 years ... now for me this is the legendary category.

Nigel fits with the former for me not the latter ... given our resources I expected us to bounce back from League 1 ... a great season last year no arguing ... but the season before he seemed incapable of halting a disastrous run and we've had a similar one this time around ....

I for one am not calling for his head just yet ... there are glimpses that give grounds for some hope ... but he needs to take a long hard luck at his team selections and tactics ...

It was easy for him to pick the same team every week last year because we were winning every week, i would like him to have more faith in payers this season though, win or not.

Im still behind him at this stage, no matter what happens now he will continue to fight on, if we stay up (it will be a miracle) .. great! if we go down, then we have an accomplished Championship manager in charge and alot of players that work well in the Championship on very long contracts, the only way that they would leave is forcing a move and Pearson isn't worried about letting players run down their contracts and let them leave for free (like Schmeichael last season).

I think it was Taggart wrote on twitter last night that Nigel is a good club manager, and i'd agree with that 100%

Can't argue with much of what you say Fosse. However, in defence of Gordon Milne, he kept us in the top-flight for 3 seasons (what we'd give for that now) and helped cultivate the most potent strike force (Lineker, Smith & Lynex) that this club has had in the time I've been a fan (1965 onwards).

... agreed TLJW and Milne's teams played some lovely stuff ... and in fairness I loved Jock Wallace's reign for the passion he brought ... it's all relative I know ...

Pardew has his own form in this area, head butting the Hull lad. Surprised he didnt lose it himself - even if it was inocuous.

Think sticking with Pearson is the right thing for you - but it was definitely bizzare. He looks at breaking point

... I'd agree .... the initial incident seemed fine, him 'pretending' to choke the lad forbowling him over .. all seemed good natured ... but the holding on to him for as long as he did and in the way he did got a bit 'uncomfortable' to watch to be honest ...

Just watched Pearson's press conference and thought he handled himself very well. The press twats who kept badgering him and his answers were basically that "he was there to talk about the game".

All good in my opinion. Thought he handled himself exceptionally well.

Good summary of our better managers. Glad you didn't mention Frank " I'll sign all my old mates" Mclintock, David " I'll play everyone out of position and baffle 'em with waffle" Pleat or Mark "Just a stepping stone" Macghee et al.

I stand in the Pearson should be gone by now camp. I didn't want him back from Hull and looked to be justified when we had the bad run, which he seemed unable to address, the season before last. We scrambled into the play offs and went out after the crazy decision to let Knockheart take the penalty at Watford. Hats off to Pearson for last season, he seemed to have learned from his mistakes and his team selections and tactics were generally very good.

In preparation for the Premier League Ulloa, Upson, Albrighton, Hamer and then Cambiasso seemed to be reasonable buys even though only Ulloa & Cambiasso were likely to go straight into the team. I think we desperately needed a good left back, creative midfielder and a starting centre back. Easier said than done but not rocket science. After a pretty good start we have again slumped into a bad run but this time we are up against far better teams and players and even though we haven't disgraced ourselves we are continually second best. Now I don't personally know NP but he appears to be a little stubborn and a little arrogant which in themselves are not neccessarily bad traits but when things go against us he seems to become very arrogant and very stubborn to the point where he makes seemingly obvious selection and tactical mistakes. I've heard it said that Hamer & Albrighton were signed by Terry Robinson and not NP. Given that he couldn't wait to drop Hamer and has never given Albrighton a proper chance it may be another example of his mindset. He continually brings back players, Konch, Nugent, Vardy, who gave great service in the championship but are not going to make the desired difference in the Premiership.

In summary I believe that Pearson is a good championship manager but is out of his depth at the top table. I believe we should appoint Cambiasso as player/manager and see what that brings.We need something to change very quickly and after only 4 wins in 24 I don't think it will happen under NP.

Remember how long it took us to get back last time.

I have real difficulty in understanding the optimism of those supporters who think we'll bounce straight back with Pearson still in charge. Many teams have tried and failed. And even if we did, what then? Another repeat of this season? I don't think he will have learned anything from this season. As I've said before, he's not some wet behind the ears manager. He's been in football over 30 years. What he hasn't learned by now he'll never learn. The only people who have learned anything are the supporters who realise that he just doesn't have what it takes to be a Premier League manager.

Some great things have happened behind the scenes which might be down to him, but it's really all about whether we can hack it in the Premier League or not. The tragedy for me is that I really think we came up with the basis of a squad that was very capable of surviving in this division, and I think we would have done so with a manager who has more tactical nous and more proven Premier League experience.
 
It does seem quite a tall order. We (Norwich) are outside the play off spots and by far the best placed of the three relegated clubs. I don't know whether it's a matter of expectations that relegated clubs think its only a matter of turning up to get the three points. Still you are not cut adrift,a couple of wins could make things look very different.
