I 100% agree with this, and I know it won't sit well with the majority on here, but I have thought the same. The proof will be in the Jan window.
Wouldn’t surprise me either if the money was held for the next manager, all the more reason though why it’s disingenuous for JL to claim he was let go due to results, when he wasn’t given the money too add to the squad, when instead they we’re holding it back for the next manager.

Just two thoughts.

Everyone is blaming JL/SL for the poor relationship between the club and Nigel and the fact they want a yes man. Remember, this is a man who got Leicester promoted to the Premier league, won numerous games at the end of the next season to keep Leicester up in 14th despite being bottom at Christmas and then left in June because according to a Leicester club statement "the working relationship between Nigel and the Board was no longer viable". Therefore, I agree NP is a good manager, but has has a history of not getting on with a board not just JL/SL.

My one conspiracy theory is we did not spend any Scott money at the end of August because the board were beginning to / had lost faith in NP so did not want to spend money on NP players to sack him 2 months later. Instead they kept the transfer kitty in the bank so a new manager has some money in January / summer. In addition several older players, James / Wieman etc. are out of contract at the end of the season. No new contracts on offer yet. Is that because we are waiting to see if the new manager wants them?

I am always sad to see a BCFC manager leave. But BCFC is my club and ultimately on Saturday I want to see them win.
Our board claim he was let go because of results, nothing about a breakdown of working relations, which is nonsense as he didn’t have the tools to do the job. That was fine when we didn’t have anything to give him, but after the Scott sale they decided not to give him anything. Then try to claim it’s down to results. We are fed up being fed B/S. I’d have more respect if they said they’d fallen out with him, I might not have liked it, but would have known they were honest. Instead they did what they did to Cotts, hung him out to dry. By the fan’s reaction this time they are seeing through the smoke and mirrors.

Claudio Ranieri Took over a Nige team that was struggling but turned them into Premiership champions..
I wonder if the board sees a different manager doing the same with what’s been built by NP? who’s to know what goes through their minds!!

Can’t say I trust the Lansdown to pick the next manager their track record on the whole is shocking, and when they do get decent manages they stitch them up. No decent manager would touch us with a barge pole.
Do they think there’s a decent manager out there that will take on a role where your expected to get us promotion with no funds and a team full of kids, because that’s what we have right now and they expect NP to get promotion despite not giving him money to do it .

I’m going to stop posting for a bit because I’m so annoyed I’m ranting.

I think it's both tbh. They didn't like how he spoke out to the press, condemning them, and then a run of poor results, and as I've said before, more worryingly, the performances. The ONLY decent performance this season was v Plymouth, and maybe Swansea as well. People are citing injuries, but that was only really against Cardiff we had so many out at once, so not a real mitigation.
We have looked good for 10-20 mins spells in games this season, but couldn't seem to ever get more than that. If results and performances had been better, I think they would have given him until the end of the season.

No arguments with any of your thoughts about Bristol City but not wanting to be dishonest I was glad LJ got the boot.
This is where we differ - the ‘glad’ bit.
It was right he was sacked and I supported that decision (although the timing and aftermath was shocking), however I get no pleasure from a Bristol City manager being sacked - even if (unlike with Pearson) it’s the right thing to do, any more than I’d celebrate having to put a dog to sleep when there was nothing more that could be done.

I take your point someone losing their job is never nice, I did feel he’d gone as far as he could we us, I don’t feel that with Nige, I think there was much more to come. Now we have to restart, which is sooo frustrating

Back to yes men and a manager that i doubt many will be inspired by.

For me Eustance and Warnock stand out.

Grahame Potter I would be very happy with.

Agreed. Pearson hadn’t finished building his squad and although we have been inconsistent, I felt that overall we were moving in the right direction, whereas LJ had run out of ideas and had to go.
Sacking Pearson is either madness or a stroke of genius. Out of these, madness seems more likely.

100% agree with this. This is what I mean when I say there are only haters, not luvees's. This exact phrase, The only BCFC manager I have been 'glad' to see go was planet Pulis. I have wanted every City manager to succeed, as every fan at any club would/should.

I think the on going back injury/problem he has restricted his overall grip on what was going on, on the training field.....I sort of understand that if true..

I don't take any pleasure in people getting fired, also I am not going to hide behind rocks and pretend I was sorry to see LJ go just to please peoples feelings, funnily enough when Nige was first appointed I wasn't to sure, I thought he was arrogant over the head in the sand Ostrich phase or his son being one of the 3 trainees in the Thai racist tape incident but as time went on and the pressures he endured he won me over.

I think it's wrong he was sacked, he accepted the problems he inherited fron previous Lansdown regimes with his eyes open, he dealt with them and our club has progressed, if he had been a spineless yes man he would still be in work, there is just no logic but thats my opinion, all of this emotional luvie syndrome is for the birds I just like honest people that tell the truth without pointless, techno waffle.

Their track record suggest the former
