BCFC is in chaos .. 3 managers stand out JE / GR / GA as possibles! the latter less so .. I would say "bring in Dame Nellie" always wanted a chance ...lol ... well give him one!

Inevitable with hindsight, unless of course you predicted the COVID pandemic and it’s repercussions, if you did, fair play to you:emoticon-0150-hands

So it was All the Lansdowns faults foe the 4.5 years of failure, plus Covid 19, nothing to do with the CEO and Manager (MA/LJ),

We don’t know what his target was, only SL and NP know that. Either way, I’d it’s either of the options you suggest, we failed miserably.
As someone else said, I didn’t want NP to be sacked, I never want any City manager to be sacked (unlike some), as it means the club has failed, which I hate.
I won’t sit here and say NP was great just because it meant LJ was gone if it wasn’t, and it hasn’t been.

Yet, now you say it’s the Landsdowns fault that NP has failed…. You’re deluded mate, you defeat you’re own arguments <laugh><doh><laugh><doh>

Inevitable without hindsight. Its in my post history. My prediction prior to covid was a loss of twenty five million pounds plus, and as I explained this would require intervention from the FC. The club themselves blamed the loss increasing to 38 million being due to being unable to trade players - Assets inevitably needing to be sold to balance the clubs books to cover the losses created by ... Johnson and Ashton.

That is on the Chairman and CEO, they control the budgets, not the manager. LJ had no more say over the budget than NP, that is now clear, but everyone hangs one, and lauds the other.

Why do you laugh at your own facts, you stated them, I merely repeated your own comments, don't be thick. I don't think Nige failed, I've already stated he masterminded our recovery.

(In the end, yes, but ONLY because COVID caused the transfer market outside the PL to collapse, coupled with no income and a high wage bill. This strategy was working g pre-COVID, and was sanctioned by SL who has to shoulder the blame, not just you’re 2 whipping boys.)

Sacked because he questioned the Lansdowns, they were waiting for an excuse to get rid. It’s a results placed business, but the fans never turned. It was because he wasn’t a yes man.

You said it was ONLY because of covid. You also stated it was part of Nigel Pearson's role to stabilised the club financially.

I’ve said a few times now I believe that Nige was a very good club manager, dealt with the structure that was required really well..
I must admit I wasn’t so convinced with his tactics on the pitch..
Defensively we’ve been poor throughout his reign which was disappointing knowing his pedigree in his playing days..
The most frustrating part for me was how good we are when we high press and play at high tempo..but then for whatever reason back off and allow the opposition to get a hold on the game.. countless amount of times this has cost us.
Overall I think it was a ridiculous decision to sack Nige, he was imo building a decent team but one wonders if there was more to it than just the football, he certainly knew how to rattle a few feathers.. SL & co wouldn’t have like that..
My worry is, who the hell are we looking to bring in that is better? Very worrying..

The past is there to learn from, at the moment the heirarchy of BCFC dont seem to savvy that and the past 10 years are behind us so fans should learn from that ! It is football, it is the championship and what has happened is water under the bridge, we all have opinions / ideas on rights and wrongs / reasons why ....................
Time now is to WTSC and stop blaming the past for the present and the next future.

NP came at a bad time, Covid came at a bad time, ......... a clean broom [ again?!!! ] I think is the wrong time from a point of present squad problems ............ but IIWII [it is what it is ]........and we do not and unlikely to know! what else was the driving factor to him leaving.

I asked you what his targets were? You said he has failed. What targets are YOU on about???

Nigel Pearson has brought down wages that were out of control, tidied a club up in a mess, and Bristol City are five points off the play offs with eleven players out injured. He was doing a bloody good job.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if because of the issues with his back that he wanted to be sacked, giving him full pay to the end of his contract.. behind the scenes stuff we will never get to know about!!

I did say this yesterday on OTIB before he was let go. His back issues are now deemed neurological not skeletal. And fixing that is a lot more difficult than operation on joints. However I was thinking maybe the suits may play out his contract and he goes end of the season. Not to be sacked.

If it were the case, it would have been an idea to have kept him on as DOF.. would have made sense imo..

That’s what I would have thought. Like I said, I mentioned that before he was sacked. Just thinking aloud as to why no talk on contract.
