Can't argue with that, the signs are all positive. But it would be no great shock if it did fall through. I can't thinking though,if we don't get him,we were never going to. For that money anyway.
With his goal-scoring record, £2million might be worth it. He has proven he can score goals consistently and he's only 25... Sometimes the risk might prove to be either truly amazing or woeful which is obviously the dilemma Bruce is faced with.
I read somewhere that the two clubs were a little apart on the valuation. So, presumably, his current club are after £2mil. We maybe have a lower valuation and can barter them down. So we might not end up paying £2m. This is based on no facts, just my guesswork. He'll maybe come here for £1.5 upwards.
Very well put. At least with the owners (touch wood) it would be a gamble that we could take even if it didn't work out for the lad.
Strikers don't come cheap, and they are always a bit of a gamble, I think 2 million is reasonable from what he has dome sofar. You also have to take his wage demands into account, which are probably less than buying a player already in the UK.
Like the useless lump Carroll that Liverpool payed £30 million for or Torres for £50 mllion by Chelsea. Not much of a guarantee there eh?
People are far too harsh on Carroll. He was head and shoulders - both literally and metephorically - ahead of Rooney at the Euros - FACT - yet most people wouldnt call him useless. Personally I'd just continue to say he's the most overrated player in history....
I can't understand why Liverpool want rid of him, unless Rodgers really is going to try and create the second Barcelona! He looked really good towards the end of last season adn unlike Ashley Young carried that form through into the Euros.
I thought Carroll suffered for the manager and will be a lot better next season, as will some others at Liverpool like Henderson for example. I suppose we can have a gamble on this kid so long as it doesn't stop us getting other players in and we do lack height in the team something we really suffered with last season.
Can this not turn into another thread about how Liverpool wasted a pot of cash on Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll etc!?! On the Proschwitz front, I'd pay 2m for him, he doesn't look like any other striker I've seen and should do well in this league, serving as the perfect foil for Matty Fryatt.
Make out of this what you will. See link: http://www.thisishullandeastriding....remier-dream/story-16535397-detail/story.html
Anybody know how good Swiss football actually is and what 8 goals during their top-flight season means? Looks like Luzern weren't bothered with him.
He is an interesting signing if he comes thats for sure, sorry for stretching out this thread like you say, time will tell on some things! The info about him is unclear apart from he has a good goalscoring record in German-type lower leagues and FC Thun. The two guys he shared top-scorer with in Bundesliga 2 were journeymen type players although one of them has signed for Eintracht Frankfurt. Lots of clubs for a 25 year old and seems to get shifted/shifts himself on a lot. What did we all do without the internet for research I wonder.
Ristac, mate, you're out of your league (literally) and are starting to make a t1t of yourself (Yes, I know you're a scum fan! Mwhoaa, Mwhoaa, Mwhoaa) Schnorbitz has just been out training with our lads in Portugal and will sign next week for £2m, so trundle off back to the lower league messageboards where TWS belong.
Well said BCC. Rooney looked a waste of a shirt in both games he played, Carroll was vry unfortunate to be dropped after the Sweden game. Decent larker at Newcastle and at the end of the season for the bin dippers, but no way is he worth £35 million.
Maybe we could get McCormack instead? He seems to want away from the dead end position he is currently in.
