Just listened to total spurt on BBC sounds of tonight's phone in before the game.
Nick Barnes was asked about the new directors at Sunderland and his reply was this, "I wouldn't get too excited, 1 is a just a lawyer and the other is just a financial whizz kid".
He is always so negative and I've noticed he is constantly taking the proverbial out if LJ's interviews. Even tonight he made a comment that it was raining and we were watering the pitch. He then confirmed that it had stopped raining but he still wanted to get a dig in it seems.
I really do detest the bloke

He's a sad little man who we can do without.

He is annoyed as his mate and source has been told that their an annoyance and an irrelevance.

If the CFO of the Louis Dreyfus group is “just a financial whizz kid”, then, erm. I got nothing. There’s no comparison to show how stupid that statement is.

It’s a bit like calling Mark Zuckerberg “some computer nerd” or Jeff Bezos “some shopkeeper”

Honest mate listen to it about 4 or 5 mins into the show last night. We don't have a place for people like him at the Club now. We need someone like Razor who commentates on the Newcastle games for Radio Newcastle who you can tell by his passion he is a fan
 
I wonder how easy / possible it would be for the club to buy the radio rights to their games? So when things are back to normal - the Frankie and Danny show just reverts to streaming radio during the games.

Would help me out down south as I can’t get radio Newcastle for the games

He was also the one who allowed Donald to spout off about his daughter's kidnapping by 3 Sunderland fans in Oxford who he managed to talk down and end with a jolly laugh. This tainted the reputation of our fans which he was happy to leave out there unchallenged. He doesn't like us does he?

When this dickhead let donald get away with saying his daughter had been abducted without question finished it for me. You wouldnt know we had scored most of the time. Someone rang on last week and said when leadbitter put the pen away they actually thought he had missed listening to barnes commentary.

To be honest, Radio Newcastle's commentary has be crap for years. I didn't mind John Cairns as he was a decent commentator (when sober!), but I always preferred Metro's. Charles Harrison was good, Guy Mowbray was a top class commentator with us, as shown by being the BBC main commentator now. Simon Crabtree was good, but once the commercial stations dropped the commentaries we've been lumbered with this bloke. He's not good enough to get headhunted like Mowbray or Crabtree abd probably isn't on a huge salary, so we'll be stuck with him until he retires.

And when he comes up with that sort of crap there are no follow up retorts from others to point out that he has not a clue about what he is talking about. Neither Marco or Pryde do enough basic research to realise what garbage he is spouting. If they did they could detail why each of his points are ridiculous. Another BBC inept job for lifer.
Barnes prefers to colour in his little book, and research what the opposition players have done throughout their career, which he waffles on about as the game is live without giving any information about the actual play.
