That guy in the Garter got the news from Jones himself. He said in press conference his remit was the same. I.e Crystal Palace and Chelsea game but it didn't matter if he was manager or assistant manager with regards preparation for Brighton.

Why. Because that’s my thoughts that’s why.

It’s not a negative thought either it’s a factual one. They have not waited deliberately till after the Chelsea game to appoint.

    Why would you do that?

That’s not bad. I just am unsure as to whether he would leave a very good gig for this job.

It’s a World Cup year. Having said that Belgium do look like they are a spent force now. That golden generation didn’t live up to expectations.

    Is Martinez a good manager?

I think they put all their eggs in the Rafa basket. When he took Everton job they really should have started thinking of alternatives. The fact they hadn't is kind of worrying. The fact that Favre is available and wants the job but their still ****ing dilly dallying about worries me. Are they really just waiting to see if a Jose, Rafa or Poch gets the sack in the next month? I wouldn't be surprised.

So that your new manager doesn’t start with a possible hammering in their first game thereby dissipating all the positive feelings around the Club on the new manager’s appointment.

Plus how is it a “factual “ comment especially when it involves your stating “I don’t think”?

A manager if appointed could have been at the game and not managed.

I don’t think ( is my thoughts mate) they planned to appoint after chelsea. That’s just happened. Not a plan.

Factually we don’t have a manger right now.

I think they have 3 managers in mind - Rafa, Jose and Poch. Playing a waiting game to see who gets sacked first. :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I would take all three. But Rafa is staying at Everton unless released.

    Jose the same.

Poch I don’t think he is in the equation is he?

I’ve not really been keeping an eye on them to be honest. I assume they are doing poop.

In my opinion whoever comes in as manager if they keep us up then that is an achievement in itself.

So **** it. Who cares as long as they know what they are doing and provided there is a plan.

Martinez odds dropped because a) Jones said Assistant Manager, and b) he was in the country. Could be that has foundation, personally think he's a bad choice (even though I picked him in this poll!). But we need a change, so if it's him we'll have to get right behind him.

Odds are still meaningless at the moment, everyone's too far out to matter - not sure if that's of concern or not, would we expect the press to know more at this stage?

Are they hanging everything on Ten Hag/Overmars as the papers suggest? I don't know why you wouldn't just get Campos in right now, and put Favre alongside him. It's stellar enough at this stage - that's a bigger name than the current Man U manager, after all - and a safe pair of pairs of hands.

Roma 4th, not winning the Scudetto this season if that was the goal. Jose's not going to come, he went to Man U and couldn't be arsed to buy a property, just stayed in the Lowry the entire time (about 400 nights).

    Rafa's not going anywhere.

Poch is well clear in Ligue 1, doing fine in CL and PSG rejected advances and offered a new contract last Summer.

We're not at that stage, that's the next level of manager. When we're stable with a rapidly improving squad, then go for Poch, Nagelsman, Rose, Gallardo. For now, get Favre in.

Favre seems a good shout. Martinez I am not sure about.

I don’t know who would get us out of this mess to be honest. I think it needs to be someone who can attract some good loan players in Jan.

Can’t see any premiership clubs allowing us loans of their players either.

Will you two flappers try to get a grip? It's been 3 weeks. The names involved weren't involved in any pre planned secretive discussions like they usually do have before a story is leaked.

These people have to be sold the project and arrange moving their families to another county long term. That can involve quite a few things to organise and perhaps take bending a few family members ears.

Apart from that this is a long term plan.. They're trying to get it right. They aren't only looking at Brighton, Xmas anything that short sighted.

They'll be aware of relegation and factoring it all in because they'll know its possible.

I can't understand why you don't seem to be able to comprehend there's likley been huge movements beneath the surface that you never see.

Rafa is still very much 1st choice. However he has a 16 mil release clause.
