While Tony Mowbray doesn't fill me with excitement - I'd rather have a young, dynamic coach - and although I'm surprised that a club structured like ours would consider him, there is one crucial thing about him that no one seems to be considering; he is capable of setting his teams up to play the way we want to play. He had Blackburn copying the high pressing game of Liverpool and adapted that style to suit them.

I see him very much as in the same mould as Alex Neil. A slightly dour bloke who will play football in a way that the club's hierarchy want.

Aye this - and he had an excellent relationship with the guy who is doing our recruitment

Hmm yes and no.

Yes there appears to be a plan in place... but it may be that we have to raise the number and quality of the squad before "the plan" can work and be effective.

My poor knowledge of the dynamics of the discussion about implementing the plan is: AN has been adamant that more investment is urgently needed now to thrive in the Championship... he was promised it would happen, it hasn't.
The windows not closed tho pal.

I’m actually pleased to see the back of toxic Neil now the dust has settled we played some of our best football today and he was sat in the bet 365
He wasn’t like, he was sat at Ewood Park but aye I get your point…

If it’s a short term deal to get us stablised this season, then so be it.

If we stay with our heads above water, job done.

Look at different options over the season and appoint a long term manager, Manning would be my number 1 choice.

It’s easy to say more money is needed, that’s called blaming the tools. A good manager/coach would’ve worked with what he had. And in fact he was doing a great job, but he’s jumped ship and blamed the club for what he signed up to. And some including you are automatically blaming the club. I think it’s **** from everyone that is.

Why tho? You don’t think we are getting better and better since he took us on?
i do but everyone is putting the whole blame on speakmen KLD is the chairman and owns the club if he doesn't like how speakmen was running things he would be gone,

sometimes the owner need questions asked in situations like this aswell, (and by asked i dont mean i want him out, i do like him) , he will have a hand in the appointment aswell, all the blame can't be on speakmen

So according to what I've read, mowbray is a boro fan, hates us and is a cheap useless appointment.

However he appears to have done very well at Blackburn last year, whilst receiving plaudits for an attacking style of play and doing well with young players.
He isn’t my choice or particularly inspiring but some reactions are very OTT, he’s reasonably capable at this level.

It takes two to argue... but Speakman and Neil were at loggerheads.. for quite a while now. Neil thought when he got us promoted he had more clout, Speakman thought otherwise.

People are putting the blame on speakman without having a clue what's happening

Some people seem to blame speakman for everything, without knowing the facts
It's all a bit irrational really is it that people are so tied to old school that they can't accept the head coach DoF set up.... Can't think of any other reason. Him and KLD came in and said 'this is our plan' and have since gone about said plan with no small measure of success..... I shudder to think how the fan base will go on when a popular player is sold as part of the plan that they were all told about from day 1

It does aye…. But from what I’ve read on here and other places the bloke knew the set up and signed up to it. Mate, whatever has gone on, that tosser left us the night before a game and it’s blatantly obvious he’d been talking to them before O’Neill was sacked. He’s the bastard not the club officials that are trying to stabilise us.

In a nutshell that’s what I reckon has gone down and it’s shown toxic Neil’s true colours, he’s thrown his toys out the pram and speakman has told him to jog on, if that is the case fair play to speakman, like that text I got who does he think he is Alex Ferguson Neil

Mowbray will steady the ship and we can look forward building a decent championship side, all I want is consolidation, I’m sure he will achieve that

We will buy the right players when available if they will sign... We will also sell some of them when the price and time is right

Well said.
