In an interview recently he said he never said those things and was stitched up by a journo with an agenda, He did say he believes in life after death but not the disability punishment thing.
In that case he should have sued them , all that nonsense and the Eileen Drewery stuff seemed clear enough at the time and a lot of the players came out afterwards saying he had wacky theories about injuries and how they should be healed. I'd prefer a young manager even one with a lot to prove, they should take a leaf out of the England ladies book with Sampson who has taken them to the next level.

Give the job to Ant and Dec and start a tv show that runs for ever

Each game, supporters text in their preferred player in each position - as opposed to Roy we pick a formation that everyone knows - obviously the formation is voted for by the public as well

For the team talk Ant and Dec read out live tweets from fans, same for half time team talks

Subs are decided on Facebook polls.

Everyone's favourite cliche, he lost the players....

BREAKING NEWS: Sky Sources: Senior England players lost faith in Roy Hodgson's decision making during Euro 2016.

Roy Hodgson's decision making didnt suddenly make the players incapable of controlling a ****ing football or passing to a teammate. Talk about wringing the manager out to dry.

Venables is the most overrated manager in the history of the game. FACT. We only did reasonably well under him cos we were the home nation and when people say the 'best football' they mean the Jockos, Dutch and Germany matches. They forget the bore draw versus Switzerland and the daylight robbery pens win over Spain when they had 2 perfectly legitimate goals disallowed.

Absolutely agree with this. People have very selective memories when it comes to Venables. We played really well once in Euro 96 , against Holland, and quite well against Germany. The Southern media loved his smart London image as well. He has had very limited tangible success as a mentor to other managers since he left.
I'd really like Ancellotti - great man, great record.

You are too young to remember why Hoddle left as England manager.
He was paying for sins in a previous life obviously .

I do know why he was sacked. Just because I was 'too young' doesn't mean you can't find this stuff out. <doh>

I think I too would lose faith in the manager if he kept telling them that Kane had to take set pieces.

Martin Green - "We will be looking for the best person for the job, not necessarily the best Englishman'

Good.

The fact that Martin Glenn, one of the three people in charge of choosing the next England manager, said he isn't a 'football expert', is quite distressing.
