I am not trying to be negative and a knee jerk reaction to the goal but I could see this being a familiar story this season. Playing well and mostly dominating the match but not scoring. What do we have on the bench to really change the game? All we have really is van der vaart who is a straight for sigurdsson. It's gutting to watch us play so well and not get anything from the match.
Sloppy defending. The worrying thing though is the complete lack of creativity. We would be looking much stronger with ade, modric and vdv dictating play.

However, i don't think it'll be the case once we have the strikers we need. it's like this because we just haven't got the fire power. everything else has been great today, as many of us thought it would be. But we ain't gonna win games or punish teams without the strikers.
so what shall we do? Modric is being a twat and Ade thinks we should fund his charity work. id rather lose than to bend over to mercenaries...Spurs is one thing in my life i dont want to start hating because we sold ourslves...we are not that bad a team without them..just like we were not championship winning material with them...as for VDV...its a squad game.
Not quite sure why Sig is going off - we need goals - take Sandro/Livermore off. At this point, if we concede again it doesn't change anything.
surprised sig has gone off. would have taken livermore off as he's on a yellow and taken a risk with 1 man (sandro) protecting the back 4, and VDV and sig attacking.
Lets not get on anyones back over this game as the only difference is finishing, a moment of magic from Ba, we hit the woodwork twice, plus Newcastle haven't had one clear chance in the game aside from that goal. Things will only start to become clear over AVB and his tactics once we have a balanced squad and quality options upfront.
I guess AVB is maintaining the shape and set up as if we take off one of the DM's we risk allowing Newcastle more of the ball.
I don't think we can be too unhappy to go down to a team whose only tactic appears to be to try and get a spectacular goal with their only shot on target. This won't work against most teams!
Sig went off and was replaced by a like player in VDV....to fill the team with attackers who cant defend at 1 down increases the risk of going 2 down..game over. at 1 down we are still in it...VDV was not thrown on for any reason but to freshen attacking ideas up,...not good to totally be relying on the Sig.
If harry had started this team last year ppl would have complained. Obviously we won't be playing ade or modders, but there are other players in world. Ba was free last year and we let him go to Newcastle. Just because we can't sign this world class striker everyone thinks we need, doesn't mean Defoe is the answer. Despite what the paps say, he was ****e for England, and he is and will be ****e for us on his own.
