i totally agree..all our lives we have watched football with a striker on the end as a final outlet, shot etc...but now we are seeing a diffrent game being played.with alot of neat link ups....and some obvious chances being created....not our fault the PL thrives off kicking lumps out of each other and thus makes the way we are set up look a bit alien..i have enjoyed our game this half.
I have seldom heard their ground so quiet. We have been unlucky so far, but really need to make this count.
gonna echo everyone's comments, we look really lively. good pressure so far and some really good passing. sigurdsson looks like he's fitting in really really well.
if i am to be absolutely critical then i would say that when we have been in attacking situations this half...in and around the area..then the final pass..shot has been made without not too much belief....as in a believe we are better than this when up top...however its been a good half for us...we look set up to do a job.
Superb first half only missing a goal. I'd love us to win but the result isn't as important as the performance and if we continue like this in the second half I'll be happy. Anyone else noticed how the whole defence is as cool and calm as Benny when being closed down, and we're so confident we'll win it back when we lose the ball.
We look the better side but if we don't take our chances it will come back to bite us. Said that we wouldn't miss rat boy. Need a striker though.
Again and again we talk about consistency from refs. Sandro got a yellow for (I think) his first foul and it was hardly a terrible one. Seems that you automatically get a yellow card now if you miss a tackle. Surely that's what a foul is for! Except sometimes of course you don't get a yellow. Like when whatsisname who got a yellow for bringing down Bale didn't get a second one for bringing him down again. On ESPN Chrissie Waddle said it would have been a yellow if he hadn't got one already. Hope that logic applies to Sandro and Livermore too!
I too am pleasantly refreshed at how we are handling this match. We don't look like losing at all. Far from it. It's like a home match. Wow. We do, however, still need to finish our chances.
yup i did notice...seems like they have been learning to use the space behind them the high line creates as a 'no mans' land in order to regroup and reform our shape etc...we look like a very good set up....the Toon are a good attacking force so credit to our lads so far.
bound to happen, we look bright and comfortable then go a goal down, lets see what avb can do but to be fair to the guy we have so little options upfront.
shame, but a good goal. I said before the game i'd be happy with a point, so let's hope we can get one. We can't expect much else with so few options up front. COYS
you cant do much about things like that...just one half arsed clearence and we are punished...ohh if only we could do the same to others........nowt to do with the new set up.....its always been the case for us at spurs.
