Vim, what did we do that deserved victory? Defoes chance in the first half aside we were terrible. Sloppy, unadventurous, no creativity.

Bale, Defoe, Livermore and Benny were largely ineffective, sloppy, anonymous or all three.

We looked so much better in the last 5mins at 442. If we carry on this way we need to play a mourinho 433, not 4231 as we have 0 creativity. Sandro or Scotty holding, vdv and gylfi behind New striker.

Sandro n Livermore didn't work with harry, and it won't now.

I agree Dona it's not AVB's fault at all. We played really well today so I'm not pissed off just a bit gutted we got nothing from that game when a point was the minimum we should have got.
I think AVB's tactics were spot on. Here's hoping we can get a compromise on Adebayor and kick on from here. We have a good set of fixtures now so let's hope the boys can pick themselves up like they did last season.

Sloppy penalty give away lost us the game.

Nothing to do with strikers or Levy, despite the fact that we need them.

We need to bury chances when we get them.

Should have, and could have, been a 1-3 win.

I don't agree at all we played badly. Not many teams will come to Newcastle and have more shots etc than them. And to single those players out is ridiculous IMO. I thought Lennon was good today his first touch bringing the ball under control was excellent. It was two stupid mistakes that's all.

The problem wasn't Sandro and Livermore, nor was it AVB, the problem lies with ENIC. Going up to Toon with no line leader always meant defeat was on the cards.

.. I guess a better striker would have buried the chances.

that's exactly the case Dona. <ok>

Ive said before, i don't mind if we havent got the funds to do so, as we're trying to sort out a new stadium. but without the funds we cannot even get close to competing as everyone else is strengthening. and when i say competing i don't mean title contention!! i'm just on about that 4th spot. what annoys me is that we all know levy's expectation is CL football. it's an unfair expectation. if he's not prepared to even remotely challenge the big clubs with a bit of spending, then we should be happy with 6th or 7th.

we've done it again as we usually do, go into a season without players who are desperately needed.

I wonder how important those 3 points will be at the end of the season?

Er - it was two defensive mistakes that cost us....nothing to do with AVB, ENIC or strikers. The second one only happened because Sandro was off after treatment so Walker covered him and left VdV and Lennon to cover Ben Arfa.

ENIC, shambles. If we only had owners prepared to back their club like City and Chelsea, now that's what you call commitment.

I so wish they'd sell up to owners with the money and desire to make us a force in the land.

Words fail me. How were you convinced in the 5 minutes where nothing really happened that 442 was much better for us? We didn't do anything.

Yes the squad's not complete but we went to St James' Park and dominated most of the game. We only lost a bit our grip on the game when we were behind and had to chase it. The squad's not complete which is mostly Levy's fault but we will win more than we lose playing like that.

Er, it was everything to do with ENIC because we went up there without a line leader and just one recognised striker.

    No excuses, ENIC, shambles.

Last season we got 'unlucky' after we signed Nelsen in the window and Chelsea bought Cahill. Luck, nah, ambition, lacking.

every point is important...as it showed last season..the first match does cost if it is not a positive one.

i spent so much time ranting and raving on here..season upon season that i tired myself and the penny finally dropped..its not easy being patient..but im going to give it a try.

Levy..dont make demands your wallet cannot backup..however....we have many many matches to go with many twists and turns....take the result away and i saw a team who are trying hard..and a manager who is damn determined..that will do me.

Cahill wanted ridiculous wages - although we should've stuck to our guns and bought in Verts in January, rather than wait until the summer.

    Yup, what he means is
"I want to act like a Throbbing Penis of Epic Proportions, and you cannot say anything about it because you dont support Spurs and this is the Spurs board, so go **** yourself."
Thats how I read it anyway :)
Still doesnt take away from the fact that he was being a TPEP.

Anyways, my 2 cents on the game, Spurs deserved something from it really, but it just didnt go for them, not a bad performance really save a little lack of creativity up front, which we all knew would be the case with only defoe up there. A tad unlucky

Spurlock, try and ignore Drogs, which is easily done, especially when he attempts to call anyone childish.

It was only the other day I had tell the lad on how to behave as a moderator, for which he threw a tantrum and resorted to childish insults.

completely agree, cannot fault the players or the manager. it was spot on. but again, it comes back to AVB having his hands tied behind his back, just like any of our managers are until after Aug31st! we're never set up for the start of the season and it always costs us points. - and with what we're trying to contest for these days, they're vital points. we might as well just play a 35 game season!! <laugh>
