On what basis would you trust that statement?

Don't buy it, now is the time to come out with their information.
If they have been in contact with GFH they should simply prove it, we need to know if we stand united with LUST or if they have been found out.
Who cares if the deal collapses, do we want GFH if they support more lies, I have had enough lies from Leeds United for a lifetime.
I think DH would probably been on twatter saying he had nothing to do with the JOINT STATEMENT. The clue is in the name of the document.
My point is that they can't. The solicitor is under instruction not to release it until after the deal is done. You can't go changing your requirement when you make a specific requirement like that!
GFH know that LUST could prove it if it happened so would they say it. If the answer is yes then they are stupid and we are in even deeper ****....

Take a breath and you will see that the explanation is too convenient to be plausible. many of you got into this with blind faith FFS stop now and face the facts.

LUST were never entered into a confidentiality agreement, they have nothing to gain from such an arrangement.
Plus I have not seen any thing to state this is the case.
Nothing stops Gary coming out and showing us some proof.
My take on it for what it is worth...
LUST have been in contact with someone, I don't doubt that or they would look right muppets, however this someone is IMHO probably of little significance but they have bigged themselves up like LUST have been accused of doing by many myself included. Chinese whispers and a little elaboration here and there has rubbed Haigh up the wrong way, I believe he has took a disliking to the way LUST operate and as the T/O nears a conclusion he has decided to cut ties with them making this joint announcement.
Maybe Haigh has used LUST a little to get where he needs to be in this T/O saga?
Either way it is obvious that Haigh and GFH do NOT see a future for LUST and this announcement will probably kill off any serious support.

Well considering I moved here (after living in the ****hole they call London for most of my life) I'd consider it an advantage for every part of my lifestyle apart from the footballing side

Its hard to keep up when your upside down
As an outsider looking in and with limited knowledge of exactly what's for sale and when people got involved, my opinion for what it's worth is that now is not the time to be hounding out your pressure group.
Businessmen don't get rich by being nice, they get rich by being selfish towards themselves and the business and ruthless to whatever is in their way. They will struggle to understand a group who put their self-interest behind that of the Club and therefore will struggle to know how best to deal with it.
Given Bates track record, especially at Chelsea, I'd be suspicious of people siding with him and would see a personal mention for LUST as a mark of their success.
Given the twists and turns of normal takeovers, one involving Bates is always going to evolve and statements made honestly at one point can look odd in later hindsight. It doesn't man they were wrong when they were made.

As an outsider with an interest as to what goes on at Leeds what i would like to know why is the takeover taking so long?, since June the big announcement was made that GFH were looking to takeover and since all they have done is fob you off with statements along the lines as 'delicate negotiations need to be resolved before we can make an announcement', with some top lawyers on the case this could had been done smoothly within weeks not the months it has been so far.
I mean when no one knew who the owners of Leeds were Ken got a deal all signed,sealed and delivered overnight and no one knew about it until the deal was done.
