The place was packed with 'Son' tourists. Just a pity he couldn't really provide them what they came for- so short of confidence. That last minute mix-up with Lucas was just shocking.
Always is. Often coach loads at a time. I suppose he gave them a goal so they’ll have gone home happy but he hasn’t played well since Burnley.
We've got to get safe standing approved. The current outcome where people get issued tickets which say its forbidden to stand then can't see because everyone else is standing is ridiculous and helps spoil the atmosphere. When we are playing well the atmosphere is fine but it is traditional Spurs for the fans to go quiet when the team are not playing well...that happened at WHL as well. There were probably about 5000 in the old Park Lane....needs some time to get the newbies to know what is required.
Eddie Hearn has claimed that Anthony Joshua's next fight is likely to be against Kubrat Pulev at our stadium in June. https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/06/eddie-hearn-anthony-joshua-kubrat-spurs-12194358/
Premium seats are 1.5% more expensive next season. That's less than inflation and I guess most people will renew. Any news on standard season tickets?
Not strictly our ground exactly, but it gets a mention and could affect us in the future: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51413557 Safe standing or not?
Yes, on the basis it is properly controlled and monitored and in suitable areas. Can only help improve atmosphere at stadiums.
Hopefully. Standing produces a better atmosphere. Our South Stand has so much potential. Bring in safe standing for the whole stand, reduce ticket prices and you’ll get a great atmosphere more weeks than not, guaranteed. Rest of the stadium can be seated as normal (perhaps east corner to have a few standing?) and it should in theory keep everyone happy.
So that goes in with Gun n Roses doing two dates, AJ’s (likely) next fight and someone on Twitter has claimed that Lady Gaga will potentially do a date there as well. Stacking up nicely, hopefully we see the money thrown back into improving the team in the summer.
Ah yes forgot about that too. Seems like Levy's initial plans are coming to fruition in that the stadium will be a cash cow and good for the club, I just hope he does indeed prove that going forward by investing into the squad. This season, despite the lack of striker, was pretty promising with regards to the amounts we've spent, I hope it continues/ improves where necessary.
Naming rights to come as well, right? I’m optimistic given the last two windows that the surgery the squad needs will be progressed again over the summer. Let’s see if that optimism is still there come mid-August
Naming rights is becoming a weird one, starting to wonder if we're holding off on that due to a potential buyout. Lot of whispers lately. Alphabet was one that got mentioned, then the fella who's on video saying he's adamant we've been sold to the Dallas Cowboys owner (though looks like he done a few too many bumps of Charlie). But I do just have a sneaky feeling there may be a small bit of truth to some of these rumours. Amazon documentary... Hiring a box office manager on a contract that was double what we were paying Poch... Could be reading something out of nothing but I can't help feeling there's an end goal to all of this.
Yeah you could be onto something there mate. Definitely feels like there’s more too it than Levy just holding off for the right naming partner or whatever it’s been said he’s doing before.
That would make sense as to why they haven’t sold them yet and potentially cost themselves a years worth of naming rights money.
The crunch is the NFL franchise. The stadium should be hosting a permanent NFL team, not 2 games a year...but Joe's going to want to be more than a landlord to a tenant. He wants to own the franchise...if that's still on the table, it's hard to see a sale, other than for really silly money.
