We'll be back to the barter system Scotland will be getting independence for a crate of Famous Grouse
It was always a good day when the gas meter man came to empty it. He would tip all the shillings onto the table & count them, which fascinated me as a kid, there were so many, then deduct what was owed to the gas co. & the rest were your rebate. Mum used to feel well off for a few days
And take out the washers that my old man found that worked when we ran out of change Us kids were told not to let the "leccy" man in the house until Dad had done something to the meter
Just read this back and it makes Dad sound like Fagin , the old man worked in the print and never paid full price for nothing if he could help it , on the down side we got a lot of " leevie jeans" and Adidas trainers with 4 stripes, told us that they were top notch because they had the extra stripe but he would every now and then pull it off and bring home the real thing , I was the first kid in the street with a Man from UNCLE gun and the Alan Ball football boots
Nan did something similar to "earn a dollar!" She would have a sack of clothes and put a couple of heavy things in the sack for the "rag and bone man" to weigh.
Levy's just putting some preparation in place for Mourinho's inevitable pay off Seriously though, it is ridiculous the amount they are charging you lot. And whether they've built the place with acoustics in mind or not, it'll be a ****ing morgue within 2/3 seasons if they carry on in that vein.
They need to look at the Emirates yesterday to see what happens if you price fans out....the plastic corporate and tourists will not fill the ground
And a "dollar" is 5 bob - so based on it being £1 = $4. Would have to be re-calibrated now if it were to enter common usage again.
The Glazers were able to get away with it because, when you have a waiting list to get on the waiting list for season tickets as Man Utd did at the time, anyone who stops buying a season ticket is easily replaced - and often replaced by the plastics who'll make a trip to the megastore when they get there How many other teams can say the same thing? Not just in the Premier League, but in all of world football? Probably barely enough to count on one hand
I was on our Season ticket waiting list for more than ten years and was just below 9000 when we moved to Wembley. I don't buy the argument that those who have waited for years are somehow more plastic than those who have been selling their season tickets on at a profit.
Cutting the attendance from 60,000 to (?) 35,000 was responsible for your long wait,I suppose. I admire your perseverance,Power! I wonder how much that cost Spurs over the years?
