It was intended to open it without the 'veil' on at all and it's hardly a basic. Originally, it was to have been fitted this summer, as was the block paving, abseiling point, etc.. It's in no way integral to the structure of the stadium and only minorly related to its function in terms of regulating temperature etc. This is the one and only bit that I can actually claim 'ITK' about, as a member of my family won the heating/cooling contract for the stadium.
I’m seeing my spark mate this Thursday who tipped me off about the electrics and safety systems being a mess. I’ll ask what he knows now and see if there’s any news from his contacts on the inside.
Just heard he's not bloody coming now. His arm's in a cast so his boss is fitting my lights instead. Bollocks. I'll try and find out though...
TfL money. Citizen Khan would rather leak cash into the Taxpayers arena money pit than see this get done quickly. I assume the Northumberland Park work is similarly slow (nothing of note when I stopped there on the train last October) .
I think we can all appreciate the time and effort Chris goes to, to produce these videos. Without him, we wouldn't really know how far the stadium is getting towards completion - visually. In fact, we get a darn sight more information from him than the club which is disappointing. I just think we're all a bit fed up with no news at all and last night's Wembley attendance was telling. I fear it's going to be next season now with nothing being announced. The club are just too worried about telling us.
Once the opening was postponed, and the info came out that : - new WHL was intended to be opened without the facade completed - the issues were INTERNAL infrastructure I stopped my tri weekly patrol around the site (as nothing I could physically see would indicate when new WHL would open) .
It would be quite appropriate, for various reasons. We were the first opponents at Brighton's new stadium and there would be two Spurs managers in the dugouts, for example.
I wouldn't be quick to rule out the Palace game, though, as that's likely to get rearranged if they beat Doncaster in the FA Cup
The spaceship comparison gets another run out in the comments about the first image from photographer, Neil Perry. It's not wrong...
please log in to view this image That's an amazing picture. It makes it look like it's from another time.
