The Beatles wrote "Hey Mr Postman" about me"I was that telephone engineer- back in the day![]()

I've always thought the lineman was talking to his sweetheart.Isn't it a song about a telephone engineer listening in on a woman's conversations (presumably without her knowledge)?
I know the intent was romantic and it is a lovely song, but it has slightly dodgy undertones.
Admittedly, less dodgy than Sting's "Every breath you take" or Morrissey's "The more you ignore me the closer I get", but still a tad creepy![]()

Sounds like a bit of a (rhinestone)cowboy. He did indeed - Campbell also sung loads of songs written by Jimmy Webb like Galviston
I used to accompany a singer for Wichita Lineman. There are hidden complexities which gave me a huge appreciation of Jimmy Webb's creative talent. The art which conceals the art.He did indeed - Campbell also sung loads of songs written by Jimmy Webb like Galviston

Yep, that's a sure sign. Same with Burt Bacharach who died earlier this year. Master crafstmen. The amount of artists that have sung songs by Jimmy Webb is testament to his writing skills.

A loan to who ?I still think that the money Brener & Fieldman "invested" was a loan.
Similar to what they did with Oscar De La Hoyes promotion company.
After 2 years when they didn't get a return on their Investment, they triggered a clause and made him buy their shares.
A loan to who ?
A loan to SE7.
If they don't get a return on their Investment, SE7 will have to buy their shares back.
I've been told this is what they did to Oscar.
Nobody knows who owns SE7 Partners Ltd, nor Global Football Partners so there’s no way of knowing what the true position is.A loan to SE7.

Presumably the EFL know more than anyone else, but they can’t disclose anything publicly.
Wouldn’t have thought the EFL would have sanctioned the takeover if the two years running costs were only covered by a loan, which is repayable on demand (or at a given time) by someone (SE7 partners - presumably without the billionaires) who couldn’t afford to repay it.
