So

Portsmouth players were valued at their worth while the club went to the wall ?
Great stuff
The **** you society is back then
Forget all about a nicer society emerging cos of lockdown
Let’s keep paying all those Lazy ****ing care workers **** all
They probably aren’t asking for a pay rise anyway so **** em eh

Giving the nurses a pay rise has absolutely nothing to do with what footballers earn, unless you think Sky should be paying the nurses wages.

Care workers aren’t nurses
Out of touch?

My wife is a high school teacher. I see the work she does and the effort she puts in and she earns around about 2/3rds of what I do. Do I think she should be paid more? Absolutely.

Does that stop me going in at my performance review where I haven't had a pay rise in two years despite taking on significantly more work and exceeding expectations in all fields and negotiate for a pay rise? Of course not.

It’s all well getting 100,200,300k a week and saying that’s my value. It prices fans out of the stadium. The ridiculously high paid players are part of the problem and their lizard like agents worse.

And some of them ain’t that great either. I remember Pogba been in poor form with the phrase “ he can’t be expected to deliver every week”.

Try saying that to your boss and getting sympathy.

I hate the way football has gone as much as anyone, but come on, you'd sign that contract and you know you would.

lol i cant believe it when people try and justify the inequalities in society.
you can spot the money grabbing pull the ladder up im all right jack capitalists a mile off.

now i dont go around selling the big issue or indeed take any interest in politics.

but my moral compass says this is wrong. maybe im wrong. ok they generate the wealth but is it right that they earn those stupidly insane amounts and can fork out £250 k on interior design without batting an eyelid and normal peoples babies die cos they cant afford operations etc.

anyway back on topic.
footballers are all greedy gits and i hate them all.
It’s our fault though isn’t it (football fans collectively I mean, not me and you necessarily!)
We pay the stupid price for tickets and we pay the stupid prices for Sky etc.
The only way anything will change is if that changes
It would be a bit pointless to cut footballers salary if the rest of costs stayed the same because all that would do is mean the owners would pocket the spare money.
Capitalism, whether we like it or not, causes the market to determine the ‘value’ of things.
If we don’t want players paid a fortune then the only way that would be done is by stopping paying the money. That would cause salaries to reduce to whatever level matched the income.

Every single one of us would take it, if you walked into work Monday morning and your boss called you in and said there has been some changes and from now on your weekly wage is 5/10/15/20/100k a week, not one of us would turn it down. Play the moral compass card online and because it hasn't/isn't going to happen all you want. But we all know it's just a front and you would gladly take the money

Cancel your Sky or BT.

It really is that simple.

What if your boss said we’re sacking three of your work mates to give you it?
Bet plenty in here still would

At what point do you have enough cash. Your assumption that we are all fed by a cash wonderlust is your opinion and clearly based on yourself.

I've witnessed that scenario first hand back in the early 90's as a shop steward.I have to admit that the attitude of a fair few was shocking...I'll never forget that!
As a working man you only have your own personal pride and morals ric and as you say some don’t
I know where i stand
I’ve just gone through a load of **** at work and no one stood by me
Yet those same people knew I would and have backed them
And I’d do it again

Am I wrong then?

I'm a very driven person but it's driven to reach the best I can possibly be at whatever it is I'm doing, in turn that may bring money and opportunities and if it does, no I won't turn them down.
