I have It’s up to others to decide whether they’re happy with current situation or not, but you certainly can’t seriously moan about players salaries if you do have them
As a teacher I earn a modest salary and I don’t ask for much. I pay my way in life and that’s me. As a private citizen, I hoard wealth and as a result I’m unashamedly filthy rich. Got a Scrooge McDuck swimming pool filled with quids and everything.
See Bpool paid tribute to the young local nipper struck by lightening, even if he was a LFC fan. Fair play to them, even if the kid was not a fan of theirs .
He does show elements of humanity. I don't think there's a lot wrong with achieving a lot in the system you work within but then when you are In a position to, try to change that system. His hotel chain also started the campaign to give frontline workers free accommodation when the pandemic was at it's worst. I believe he was also the England team unofficial shop steward when he was playing. It's the ****s who take the money and take the piss out of the sport and fans
There's a good question. It is true for many of us that we'd suddenly find our ideals once we had 10m in the bank. I certainly would. Then you can look at your extended family and sort them out too. Pay their mortgages, holidays, fancy educations, all that good stuff. But by turning down that kind of money, you'd be denying them the opportunity to just enjoy life.
Same club who tried to claim government cash to furlough their staff, despite ridiculous their ridiculous turnover. And some are having a go at players for trying to screw clubs by high salary demands. Its recognised now that actual match day revenue is just a small part of a clubs income.
Absolutely no problem with driven people and rewards for that effort. Reach out by all means. You remind me of my daughter. I’ll try clarify my point. A ten grand difference makes a lot of difference. Going from 10 mill a year to 15 mill a year is just more on top of what should already be an incredible living. A rise of pay way lower down the scale is a lot more relative.
And I understand this Kempton but once you have looked after them with the hope they still understand the value of money do we really need to keep stocking up when fans can not afford to attend.
Unfortunately the system in the public sector is not generally geared to the most capable receiving the financial rewards they deserve. Probably why some of the most capable workers leave the sector. Many do actually measure reward in a non financial way.
How about an outside the box idea, Kick out all those who were signing up for the Euro Super League and have a reset of the game in England.
I'd be more than confident that the family and friends I'd look to 'sort out' would use their money wisely. If they didn't, I'd spend the rest on a new striker. That'd learn em
there is insane amounts of greed in the game today. thats before any proposal of a superleague. my point is if he feels the need to speak out about greed it would be nice to have heard him anytime during the last decade or two.
