There seems to be a lot of bed-wetting going on at the moment, can we just give LR a chance to put his mark on things and start working with the players before we start judging him. At least Acun has realised his mistake and gone for a young up-and-coming coach, who knows the English game, and is an extremely articulate guy who I believe could well prove his doubters wrong. I really hope so.

Providing Rosie doesn't do a D.J. Campbell on us, he has a few things in his in-tray:

1) Sort out WTF is wrong with Nathan Baxter. He isn't the keeper we saw last season. He hardly ever comes for crosses anymore and he no longer commands his area. if you can't sort him out - and if the loan deal allows it - bin him off back to Chelsea and get another keeper in.

2) Centre halves - sodding hell, it's been like watching Steve Richards and Steve Deere (c.1980) at times this season. No leadership, no organization, just last gasp defending. Their ineptitude has contributed to us having a disgraceful defensive record of only 1 clean sheet all season, and the worst defense in the league. Come January you need to bring in at least two 6ft 4' experienced centre-halves who are both leaders and organizers. Drop / sell the current bunch.

3) Wing backs, full backs, wide players or whatever you want to call them. Get them out wide to stop opposition teams get their crosses into our box so easily. If we can't defend the ball coming in, then stop it from coming in the first place.

4) Midfield. For all of our fancy-dan new signings, where is the brains? Where is the nous? Last night, M'boro had 2 players on yellow cards after 5 minutes. surely somebody clocked who they were? So why didn't anyone go one-to-one on them when we had possession, knowing that if they drew a foul, then the ref had a decision to make? Might need to see some comings and goings in the midfield area in January.

5) Up front. Get Oscar some help ASAP. The bloke is feeding off scraps.

Finally, welcome back and good luck Rosie - on the evidence of this season so far you'll need it

I like the points made in this post. Baxter has been awful compared to last year. Not sure why Ingram was the scapegoat for all the **** that went on during the early part of the season.

Oscar seems to get off lightly on here. He's been pretty poor in recent games. Admittedly the service into hime as been poor (see above), but he doesn't get himself involved in games, and he doesn't seem to make the ball stick at all. We don't play to his strengths at all, but that seems to be a reoccurring theme for strikers at City.

At times I think Oscar has been excellent at holding it up and getting involved. Against Wigan he was very good at it. Since then he's been nowhere near as good, and I agree that he was pretty poor last night.

I agree Baxter is nowhere near the keeper he was last season, for whatever reason. I'd like to see us give the young kid we signed from Spurs a chance, Lo-Tutala? He's clearly highly rated and he's already our player. We could maybe end Baxters loan early if we're allowed, freeing up a loan option.

For me Greaves is the one that should get looked at, he seems to have lost confidence right now and for whatever reason seems to cause panick or confusion when playing alongside the likes of Fig. Jones on the other hand has some.kind of understanding with Fig, in a 2 at the back, so to revert Greaves back alongside Fig for last night seemed strange to say the least.

Baxter and Ingram are about on a par for me, people were clammering for Baxters return when Ingram held the gloves, and now it seems Ingram has all of a sudden become a better player for his absence ( as usually happens)

When Silva came in I remember them saying that he had them doing defensive drills from day one, which ultimately lead to an improvement.

The only way we will improve imho is to work their bollox off on the training pitch, drilling then til it's second nature. Get an understanding of what is needed, drilling their positional awareness, and getting their heads right.

IF Liam can do that then we'll stay in games til the 90th minute, and confidence to be brave and express themselves will return.. but its a big IF.

Baxter certainly needs dropping, I think Ingram is the more solid reliable keeper. Perhaps not the shiny toy from Chelsea but at least he stops the odd effort on goal.
From what Ive read on the Under 23's thread, the young French international should be in line... very vocal apparently which seemingly our keepers are not..

Anything near the calibre of defender Marco Silva had to work with would be a blessing...

Greaves (and Jones) needs to bulk up and practice heading, he's getting bullied and rarely directs a headed clearance (or goal attempt) well.
Fig can head but positionally he's on a different wavelength to the rest of the defence.
I think we need to pick a defensive unit and try to stay with it, constant changes aren't helping.
Greaves has been poor on more than the one occasion ever since his new improved contract was signed off

Not sure why we signed him if he’s not gonna be in the match day squads. He’s our player and I’d rather he get the experience than Baxter. Can’t imagine he came here to sit in our under 23s than Spurs’.

Tutala I’ve seen a handful of times in U23s games. He is very vocal, he never shuts up. My non-City supporting mate who watches him calls him “boom box” because he was screaming down the pitch as we were about to score. Also expected him to sound French, he doesn’t, he has a thick London accent.

He backs himself and he’s a good shot stopper, whether or not we will see him in the first team any time soon remains to be seen but Baz will have been taking notes and I imagine we will see him in a cup game if the draw is kind to us.

Sounds like the EXACT type of player we need…..can he play CB?

should have flogged him to boro back in August when we had the offer….if only….to think so we’re calling him a future prem player….right now he’s league 1. Out of his depth
Well, if he is league one, where does our consistent bench warmer who has had about three minutes of Championship football this season stand? I think he is completing his first draft of a Christmas Stocking Filler:
