If I’m moving to somewhere for a new job, I’d probably look into the place I’m having to move to, the people, the culture and the history.

I mean, I could go blind and just rock up, but that would be a bit silly wouldn’t it? Like taking a hoodie to Finland in Winter.

Rosenior doesn’t have to do any of that, he knows the city, the club and some of the staff no doubt. There doesn’t need to be a settling in period, or time working out where to live, he’ll know the area and can focus more on the job.

So, Rosie would get the nod over Pep? Do you seriously think managers do all those things before applying for a job?

If you needed to worry about a new manager coming in.... read these comments from Seri today...

Under Arveladze, some players, it's understood, were struggling to hit 4k, now, those figures are upwards of 12k in stark contrast to performance levels previously.

"He took the team in a difficult moment, and what he is doing is brilliant, I have to say that." Seri explained. "The way he wants us to play, to press, makes sense.

"In football, if you do something that doesn't make sense, you cannot go anywhere. Everything we do we have to know what we are doing, and the sense is there and that's what he's trying to do.

"Under him, we're running more. Before, the four defenders were running more than the midfielders and strikers and this makes no sense, now we can see the difference.

"The midfield is running more and this is helping, he keeps telling us we have to run more, we have to stay in shape and protect and defend our goal and keeper, and we scored seven goals in two games, this is not nothing."
Well that shows what paying attention to the data does. 4k now 12k I am all for that. Its not that the "data sets you free", its run or you will be free not to keep your place.

You're thinking from the perspective of 50k a year
Even championship managers are on fantasy money

I’m amazed he didn’t get the Brighton job

I mean he knows the area well and he loved it there
And he loved it in derby too
And he loved it at Fulham
Etc etc
He’s a real pro with the media

Right, I forgot he helped get Brighton promoted to the Premier League, Europe, an FA Cup Final and made over 150 appearances for them across five seasons. He definitely wasn’t a fringe player in their promotion season or anything, I’m sure he played lots of games for them in the three years he was there.

His Nanna’s from Brighton too. Should have been a cinch getting that job. I wonder what went wrong?

I did have the guy in Jack the Chipper Whitechapel ask me if I wanted some 'pieces' on my haddock and chips. I said yes thinking I was getting some kind of fish nuggets until I realised the moron was referring to scraps.
Mad expensive, that place. Ace name tho.

Why would he get the nod over Pep? What does he have to do with it?

Do I think they actually look at the place they’re going to have to move their family to before they submit a CV? Yeah.
Because it would be absolutely mental not to.

Where his grandfather’s at?

Tee’d you up @Erik

I don’t think football managers, especially top ones, go look around somewhere before they apply for a job. Why would they look round Hull, they won’t be living here?

He know the area, te people, the culture…Pep doesn’t.

Did rosenior even live in the area when he was a player?
Thought he was in leeds

Can’t think of any managers who lived in Hull in recent times. Except maybe Slutsky who was pictured at Hull Fair. The sort of culture, a Carver’s pattie and chips at Hull Fair might just be the culture that tips the balance for managers..

Hull fair is probably an upgrade for anyone born in stalingrad
