According to Baz they’ve been talking to Rosie for a few weeks.
If this is true then surley Pardo was discussed, would seem strange to bring him him but only until a new manager is appointed

I think anything that rocks the boat consistency wise would be a bad idea. Stockdale was brought in on a temporary basis anyway, but a few coaches left with Shota and gaps weren't filled when Grant left. So there are gaps we can fill. Pardo isn't technically a coach so should be alright.

Not a coach yet 25-1 to be our next manager <laugh>

I thought Stockdale was only here temporarily, and there's nothing to say all the staff Rosenior wants to bring are matchday assistants - could be a club doctor he has a good working relationship with, a scout, etc.

Still not convinced Rosenior is the right choice. Hope to be proven wrong if it happens but it’s a relatively big job for an inexperienced, young coach who only has 12 games of competitive football as a head coach under his belt.

Put it this way, Rosenior was only ever Rooney’s second-in-command and then interim manager at Derby. This season, he’s effectively done the exact same role for Derby what Dawson is currently doing for us. He was only ever a stop-gap at Derby, which is why becoming a full-time head coach at a Championship club on the back of that is such a massive jump up. Replacing our temporary solution in Dawson with a League One team’s temporary solution doesn’t seem like a positive move. If anything, it seems like a desperate appointment because Acun has failed to convince coaches of higher calibre like Carvalhal, Corberán and Martins to come here.

Maybe Daws gives him an insurance policy to take a risk on a young up and coming coach with ties to the club and the area?

I think that is bit unfair, yes, Acun tried to attract a bigger name, but found maybe he had aimed too high, but at least he gave it a go. In LR, I think he realised his mistake with Shota, and if he couldn't get a top manager, then go for someone like LR and as MO says above, have the safety net of Daws should it not go to plan, seems a wise move. LR did well at Derby under very difficult circumstances, and IMO good to see the club giving a young up-and-coming manager a go. I really hope he turns out to be a success and I will be fully behind him.

This is a good article that Liam wrote some time ago around Graham Potter: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...r-ostersund-human-touch-arsenal-europa-league

He may be the trailblazer of many frustrated, innovative coaches who, with the door shut firmly in their face here because of a “lack of experience” at first-team level, will look abroad to follow their passion and perform their own miracles all over the world.

It will be interesting to see how his career progresses and whether in time an English club owner will be “brave” or “crazy” enough not only to employ a man who has proved successful with his ideas in Scandinavia but to give him the time and patience needed for consistent, long-term success. For our own game to improve and grow we need coaches whose first thoughts are the processes in improvement and growth, like Potter now and Ferguson decades before him.

I’m willing to give him a chance, seems Acun is as well.

I cannot see how this can be considered desperate. It’s a very risky gamble really to invest so in the squad then throw in such a wildcard domestic manager. There are all sorts of run of the mill domestic managers about and I would assume plenty of who are well known and decently regarded in Turkey.

We are not a shoestring club. Whilst it maybe difficult to get the likes of Pedro Martins here, appointing a ‘proven’ manager should not be difficult and I do not believe nobody will take the job.

The easiest appointment of all perhaps would be to give Andy Dawson the job, not usurp him in favour of somebody who is not only younger but also less experienced in coaching and managerial roles.

It’s surely much more deliberated than desperate.
