We can’t really be waiting on other teams though. Things are going to get worse before they get better on current trajectory.

I'm not really sure we get to choose the timing that much.

If we want good people then other clubs will be interested and there's a pecking order we ain't necessarily top of.

With regards to our scatty approach to transfers, I think Acun probably gets an unfair amount of criticism. There is a team of people working on this stuff and I think a proportion of the blame has to lie with Shota, no doubt he would have given his opinion on what he thinks he needs, whether or not the available players in Turkey would improve the squad. There is no way Acun identified and decided to buy Woods, not knocking the player, just not what we needed at all.

The one question I do have that still does not sit well with me is, why was Shota surprised at Cannon being left out, what went on there?

Woods was no doubt a Darnbrough pick.... and a **** one at that...

Acun Ilicali has a target and a man he wants to bring into this football club. The problem he's got is that results are not improving under Andy Dawson, despite his best efforts. The Tigers owner is understood to be prepared to change course and move quickly if he can snare the man he wants.

They're not winning games - Wigan aside - and this needs some clarity. It can't be allowed to drift on indefinitely because the warning signs are well and truly there, and Sunday's defeat is understood to have had some bearing on Ilicali's plans moving forward.

The issue the owner has got is that he has a specific target in mind and he won't want to bring in somebody for the sake of it, so will hope he can move things along quicky in the next few days.

Sounds like we do have a clear target in mind at least which is positive.

Have I heard right that Acun told Humberside he wouldn’t consider Bruce because they put a poll and the majority said they wouldn’t want him back?

I agree with the verdict but doesn’t feel like that’s the right way to run the club.

I don't think he was in talks then saw the poll and then put the phone down or anything. Think it was more to illustrate a point about the fans wanting championship experience but not Bruce who has the most championship experience.

I feel he was massively missing the point though. Most of us would prefer a competent manager who has had some Championship experience and success compared to a random bloke who managed Antalyaspor in Turkiye for 6 months in 17/18.

We would also prefer someone who has had success in multiple countries at a high level (Martins) over someone who has been in the Championship for 20 years and is now well past his best and doesnt have a modern style of management (Bruce/Pulis).

Yes exactly. He's making a strawman if he's going to suggest we don't actually want Championship experience purely because we don't want Bruce back. There's varying degrees and abilities of managers with Championship experience who aren't Bruce.

Spot on. Experience only takes you so far in the modern game now. It helps of course but on 2 occasions this season we’ve been outplayed by teams who’s manager is currently in there first job as the head coach. Yesterday and QPR under Beale

If you listen to it he wasn't saying that either. He was saying he felt from that we didn't want to go backwards.

I must be a lone voice but i would like to see andy dawson given more time. We were good in the first half and i think daws will build on that.
Was we good in the first half or just better than the second half, we went in 1 down. As the home team we are expected to be on the front foot and we only had 2 shots on target in 90 mins.

Looks like Daws will get more time anyway, at least a couple more games. I have been impressed by his interviews and analysis of the problem, that unless you're bang at it, every player, every game, you're done for in this division, and also talking about our failure to win enough second ball. Seems quite refreshing to me compared with Shota's rather obscure post match interviews. And I agree that in both the Hudds game and yesterday, we started much better than in recent games under Shota. I guess I'm not yet sure whether he has the experience or ability. He's been badly let down by his players and their reaction to adversity. Whether he can get through to them and really affect a big difference in performance, I just don't know. I haven't given up hoping.
