The lack of noise seems to indicate to me Dawson is at least here for the short term. I would very much like your guess to come true though.

A lack of noise doesn't mean nothing's happening.

After the Martins fiasco, I can't think they'll want it out there in the media until it's done, whoever it's going to be

Not sure many could get us defending better while still delivering the style Acun wants. We simply don't have the personnel.

Maybe he has had time to way up his options, and has found out other possibilities are not likely to come to fruition, so has tempered his conditions, which are now more in line with Acun's? We certainly need someone to come in sooner rather than later.
