Yeah I was thinking the same brb, I think Scally has made him director in order to save having to pay him off, that way if Hessenthaler leaves then he has saved himself money, I think Scally only wants him there for a little while, not sure if that is true but that is what I think.

Good job your not a lawyer Hoadie, that is not quite what I said - lol
 
Where the money has come from is an enigma ! ( and I don't think Scally will tell ) I have voiced one opinion that I believe - that money from add-ons of previous player transfers has been used ( not necessarily a bad thing .)
There is another part to the equation of a new manager - that is the funding of a decent first team coach - on which we have 'saved' over the last season. It's just another thing that will stretch our resources - which will not help the next manager.
I sincerely hope that we don't get into a situation where the ' appointment ' will be someone who, in modern parlance, will be the First Team Coach and Hess the manager of the playing staff ! .............although if it gets us back into L1 for 2013/14 I wouldn't care less.
 
Going back to Clark does anybody else think his comments in the press were a little odd? All that rhetoric about not being able to confirm on deny anything... Seems to be a smoke screen to me. To me it implies that discussions were certain had but to what end I am not sure. Maybe he is playing his cards close to his chest so not to put off other suitors
 
I found it all very promising to be honest. It wouldn't put off other clubs by saying 'I've not been contacted by Gillingham' or 'I've heard nothing about this', why would that deter away other clubs? Scally has been in contact, I think that is the case anyway. His refusal to comment for me is an inference that he is in some way connected and therefore all this excitement is justified. Whether we will get him is another matter, I feel that either the decision has been made, and in that case I think we can expect an announcement tomorrow, or talks are ongoing with Mr Clark regarding pay etc.
 
I could imagine Allen's press conferences would be quite similar to Holloways! It would be pretty exciting, better or worse!

But in answer to the question of when, here's my take.

IF it's an eye catching appointment then I feel it will be announced today, if you want the announcement to get any kind of attention and coverage, tomorrow at the latest anything after that will be completely lost to Euro 2012 so that's when I'd announce an unispiring boss.

Are you an MP ? ( but I have to agree with you )
When do the local Medway newspapers get printed ? - I suspect that an announcement may be on that day.
