Holloway & Bircham a lot more welcome to my club than Sherwood or Redknapp
    Sir Les gets a pass
But FFS we have our own people now to support
They will naturally have the clubs interests at heart automatically
Win or lose we need to do our jobs now and back them 100%

Birch ran around the pitch singing come on u Rs, showing a QPR shirt, while Ollie said that through all the pain and suffering the thought that he was not a Scum supporter made him feel better.
When Ollie managed us, the team, squad and finances were awful. With their attitudes and Winner-instinct, I feel that they could make this squad quickly improve.
Also, I just love people with a passion for QPR and these two have the required passion. (Why not get Ainsworth in as well?)

    QUOTE

‘Ollie’ returns to Loftus Road on two-and-a-half year deal ...

    • Ian Holloway returns to Loftus Road as new QPR manager
    • 53-year-old signs a two-and-a-half year deal
    • Holloway back in W12 after 10-years
QPR have appointed Ian Holloway as the club’s new manager.

The 53-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract at Loftus Road, returning to the club he served as both a player and a manager with great distinction.

Holloway, of course, played for five years in W12, before spending five years as manager, leading QPR from League One to the Championship in 2004.

He has since enjoyed promotions from the Championship to the Premier League with both Blackpool in 2010 and Crystal Palace just three years ago.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, he expressed his excitement and pride about returning to ‘his club’, over 10 years on from his last spell as Rangers boss.

“I feel honoured, privileged and proud,” said Holloway, “It's a huge moment for me and I am delighted to be back here.

“I feel this is the right time for me. I feel like I'm back home now and I can't wait to get started.”

He added: “I care deeply for this football club and I want to help Les, Lee and our wonderful owners create something we can all be proud of.

“Does anyone know this club better than me? Probably not. Has it changed much? Maybe. But I know what it means to everyone out there.

“People would die for this club – and I want our players to show that in their performance, and our fans to show them that they care about the players as much as I will do as their manager.

“My job is to try and help this squad improve and create an environment that the players can succeed in, especially at Loftus Road, where the fans love to see players express themselves.

“I want to try and galvanise this squad and make my owners smile. Hopefully this is the start of something here.”

Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, welcomed Holloway’s arrival, commenting: “It’s an exciting appointment for the football club and one I am sure the supporters will fully embrace.

“Ian is QPR through and through and knows both what it takes and what it means to manage this club.

“He knows the club inside-out, but more importantly than that, he knows the Championship inside-out. He’s managed hundreds of games at this level and has enjoyed great success too.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have him on board.”

A further announcement regarding Holloway’s backroom staff will be made in due course.

In the meantime, welcome back, Ollie!

To me, and I love Holloway as much as the next QPR fan, it just feels like a bit of a cheap trick by the board. Didn't really expect a two and half year contract either.

Having said that, the man is qpr through and through and will always have my full backing, and we certainly needed a character to lift our club at the minute. Here's hoping he can inject some much needed life in to the squad and we can start climbing the table. One thing you can guarantee is that Ollie and Birch will give their all to be a success with the club they love.

So much for 'until the end of the season'.

Not even a 1year rolling contract.

Hope he does well but fear we are just regressing, not progressing

Not impressed at all. Was he one of Les's former team mates?

Think we are going backwards big time and are nailed on for the drop, unfortunately.

Both were bad options in my opinion. TF is taking this club backwards. No other club would touch Ollie with a bargepole. There is a reason for that. Yes, we all know he is QPR through and through. So am I but that doesn't mean I would make a good Manager. He has succeeded and failed with us before but overall I think his CV has more failures. For that reason, in my opinion, TF is making another huge mistake.

So now we should be overjoyed just because it's not Sherwood?

What if had been Bob Shriftlove from Chorlton Town Reserves?

    Should we have been ecstatic?

    Thoroughly underwhelmed.

He is our manager though, so he starts with a clean slate and I will back him 100%.

    Pray he does well

Please give the bloke a chance...
..Did we all see the promised land when Warnock came here the first time...no
We wanted someone with Premiership experience, Arry was probably the biggest disaster ever
Didn't we l cry out for a hungry young up and coming manager, and JFH gave us stale and turgid football.
We now cried out for someone who cared...we got what we asked for.

He is now manager of my team, I am going to support my team and him...and perhaps we might have some fun.

Well at least it's not a couple of Spurs duds for a change. It could have been an expensive Dim Tim.

The football he played at palace and Blackpool was very watchable at least , if not ultimately successful.

I'm not convinced tbh with this appointment. McInnes at Aberdeen had a lot of merit, but as Rangers men they deserve to be judged on their results rather than dismissed out of hand before they've had a chance.

    Let's see.

So, we have appointed a manager that will be full of passion & has great love for the club. I wish him well & really hope that he is a sucess.

However, I do ask if loving Queens Park Rangers is the right criteria for selecting your manager? I suspect that the rest of football is once again laughing at us.

Good luck Ian (and I assume Birch). It will be interesting!

We fire Jimmy on a rolling contract, to hire Ollie for 2.5 years. Madness. Good luck Ollie!

I don't expect that scenario given our current squad of players, but we're likely not going anywhere for a while, other than more mid table mediocrity.

I don't understand why they write him a 2.5 year contract, so if that "dream manager" Paul Clement becomes available at end of season, they will have to pay him off.

I guess on the bright side, after his miserable Millwall experience, there's no way to go but up for Ollie.
