I believe Pochettino is the better coach, but Ron is a better tactician.
Will be interesting to see how he does in the transfer market. Although Krul is perhaps an uninspiring early rumour.

Like you say, a rumour.

Why don't we just give them their own thread so that all the winding up can be controlled in one place...

Komon guys and gals good suggestion from LTL. Lets keep the inquest on the appropriate thread re the departure. This one is for the incoming manager other wise it becomes a bit confusing.

Eddie Howe was on my list for incoming managers at Goodison. Would he make the move and would he keep on improving Southampton?

He is young and has drive and I tip my hat to him for keeping Bournemouth up against the odds.

I'm not sure if this was aimed at my post or just happened to follow it but the article is about the Jose having confidence in Saints finding a good new manager and nothing to do with the other guy.

He could be an excellent choice and have a few years of his wages covered by the payoff our new owner sent your way.

But you have to question why he jumped ship so quickly at the end of the season.

I know I am in the minority , but IMHO there is just something about Eddie Howe and the Cherries that just " Clicks " . I cannot see him wanting to come here , even if we are after him .

It wasn't aimed at you . It wasn't really aimed at anyone , just a suggestion by LTL & BT agreed ( as do I ) .

No it wasn't....but the thread was going seriously off topic about our departed manager for which we already have a thread. Which I feel will possibly not be open for too much longer, (I hope) as it is beginning to bore the crap out of folks!

Nah. In a few years time perhaps, but not for now.

If the second part of your post is to do with the one that recently left, you'll find all the reasons and answers to your question on the other thread.

I'm intrigued by De Boer. Many people seem to have reservations - why so?

While he did win the league 4 times in a row with Ajax, he did it largely through playing slow, boring football and and unwillingness to change things when they weren't going well. He also won the league with low points totals (73, 76, 76, 71) where PSV just won it last year with 88 points and 84 the season just gone.

Also his record in the 'big' games in the league was really poor and his main goal was to improve their European performance which he has consistently failed to do. He failed to qualify from the Champions League group stages once and barely managed to qualify for the Europa, even then group games were dire.

There's also complaints about his ability to handle players with egos, namely Kishna and Denswil who were both sold off for peanuts upon De Boers request.
