    It would also be solid, a chance for the youth, long term and may surprise a few people.

    He's not high on my personal choices, but i would understand the appointment. The downside always being the image he has of playing dull football.

    Hi Southampton fans.

    It's no good that your managers and players are being picked off by other teams. I really hope you can get the managerial appointment right and keep hold of your best players. I get the impression your club is run by sensible people. I think Frank de Boer is a good option for you. At least there'd be continuity with the Ajax/Dutch approach. I believe Koeman managed at Ajax too. So there'd be some Ajax in his training methods and FDB is Ajax personified.

    The rumors coming from some insiders is that we're focused on someone with experience of European football and who has managed at several clubs.

    because FDB has only managed at Ajax, he is slightly lower on the list
